Former President Donald Trump beat former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley handily in the New Hampshire Republican primary.

But Haley still says she’s not going anywhere, despite getting blown out in the first two presidential contests.

Haley Vows to Stay in the Race

After the Iowa caucuses, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis dropped out of the race and endorsed Donald Trump, making New Hampshire’s primary the first head-to-head matchup between Trump and Haley.

It didn’t go well for Haley, who had been hyping up her numbers and ability to win the Live Free or Die state.

USA Today reports, “Donald Trump’s margin of victory over former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley stood at 11.3% early Wendesday with more than 90 percent of the votes counted in the New Hampshire Republican primary. The former president had 163,700 votes in the Granite State, to Haley’s 129,646. Trump had secured 11 New Hampshire delegates, while Haley garnered eight delegates.”

Even so, Haley said she’s “not going anywhere.”

“Except to my sweet South Carolina,” she added.

She also said, “We’re not going to coronate Trump when 48 states haven’t voted.”

USA Today continued:

With the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary complete, Trump has 31 delegates and Haley has 16. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who suspended his hard-luck campaign on Jan. 21, has nine while Vivek Ramaswamy, who dropped out on Jan. 15 after a fourth-place finish in Iowa, has three, according to the Associated Press.

The GOP nominating contest now moves to Haley’s home state of South Carolina on Feb. 24. The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations is the last major challenger to Trump’s steamroller campaign.

It doesn’t look like Haley will find much more like in her home state, where FiveThirtyEight has Trump ahead of Haley by nearly 40 points, 62% to 25%.

Trump Dominates GOP

Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said about the New Hampshire primary, “Tonight’s results confirm Donald Trump has all but locked up the GOP nomination, and the election denying, anti-freedom MAGA movement has completed its takeover of the Republican Party.”

“While we work toward November 2024,” Rodriguez said, “one thing is increasingly clear today: Donald Trump is headed straight into a general election matchup where he’ll face the only person to have ever beaten him at the ballot box: Joe Biden.”

Most polls have shown Donald Trump beating Joe Biden in a head to head match up.

But it’s still a long way to November.

Apparently that’s something Nikki Haley is currently betting on too.
