Trump Calls For Investigation Into Obama Netflix Deal

President Trump on Monday lashed out at the House Judiciary Committee’s repeated efforts to investigate him and suggested they look into Barack and Michelle Obama’s Netflix deal instead.

Trump began by lamenting that the committee had wasted millions of dollars and two years worth of resources only to find nothing actionable in the Russia collusion hoax.

He then helpfully pointed them in the direction of the Obama Netflix and book megadeals, as well as the Congressional slush fund used to pay off victims of sexual harassment.

“House Judiciary has given up on the Mueller Report, sadly for them after two years and $40,000,000 spent,” Trump seethed on Twitter, adding that after coming up empty-handed, they’ve pivoted to investigating “all of the deals” he “has done over his lifetime.”

“I have a better idea,” the President said. “Look at the Obama Book Deal, or the ridiculous Netflix deal.”

“Then look at all the deals made by the Dems in Congress, the ‘Congressional Slush Fund,’ and lastly the IG Reports. Take a look at them. Those investigations would be over FAST!”

He addressed the Obama Netflix deal again in a followup tweet …

In 2018, Netflix announced that they had signed the Obamas to a multi-year deal to produce “scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries, and features.”

As part of that deal, they acquired the rights to adapt the book The Fifth Risk into a series.

The book, authored by Michael Lewis, is a New York Times bestseller that claims to contain stories about Trump administration appointees who are described as “completely unprepared for their jobs.”

In June, the former First Couple inked an exclusive deal with Spotify to produce podcasts that will help promote “diverse voices.”

Earlier this month, an attorney for an e-publishing company accused the Obamas of “deplorable behavior” after the former first couple filed to cancel his client’s trademark and take it for their own production company, ‘Higher Ground.’

The President has thus far not commented on what exactly needs to be investigated regarding the Obama book and Netflix deals.
