Trump Announces New Middle East Peace Deal As His Approval Rating Zooms Past 50%

President Trump announced a new peace deal in the Middle East on Friday that would normalize ties between Israel and Sudan.

Sudan joins Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who announced similar historic peace agreements that involve establishing embassies, exchanging ambassadors, and beginning to work together as partners.

The third historic peace deal sealed by President Trump comes as his approval ratings has increased sharply in the last two weeks.

Sudan, according to the President, has demonstrated a commitment to combating terrorism and would pay $335 million in compensation to victims of terror.

“Three months ago, no one thought this was possible. Even Bibi didn’t know if this was possible, right Bibi?” Trump asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The President’s ongoing successes in establishing peace in the Middle East have earned him multiple nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump Peace Deals Are a ‘Dawn of a New Middle East’

This past September, President Trump boasted of the historic nature of his peace negotiations.

“After decades of division and conflict we mark the dawn of a new Middle East,” he told reporters on the South Lawn of the White House.

“Thanks to the great courage of the leaders of these three countries, we take a major stride toward a future in which people of all faiths and backgrounds live together in peace and prosperity,” he added.

At the time, President Trump said he expected several other countries to follow. Sudan is the first one up.

Today, the president said that at least five other countries wanted peace with Israel as well.

“We have many lined up,” he suggested. “They want to come in, get the deal done.”

Deal Comes as Trump’s Approval Rating Rises

Another historic peace deal in the Middle East comes as a new poll suggests President Trump’s approval rating is on the rise.

Rasmussen Reports, according to the Washington Times, indicates his approval has jumped to 52 percent, a five-point rise in about 10 days, and two percentage points higher than where Barack Obama stood at the same point in his 2012 re-election effort.

Incumbents with 50% approval or above are easily re-elected for a second term.

Rasmussen had Biden with a whopping 12-point lead nationally over President Trump two weeks ago.

Since then, it has diminished to just three points and, perhaps more importantly, Biden’s support has fallen below 50%. A critical number that Hillary Clinton wasn’t able to break in 2016.

“Really good polling numbers as people realize all that we have done,” Trump tweeted. “Rasmussen Approval Rating, just out, 52%. Approval Rating in the Republican Party, 96%. Thank you!”

It will be interesting to see in the coming days if Trump also gets a bump from his debate performance Thursday night.
