The View‘s Sunny Hostin, who is of black and Latino descent, is an advocate for slavery reparations in the United States.
But recently she said she was “so disappointed” to learn that she is also the descendant of slaveowners.
In other words, Hostin has white ancestors.
An amused Megyn Kelly wasn’t going to just let her off the hook.

“The shame of coming from a white person, the horror!
Conservative pundit Kelly slammed The View co-host on Tuesday, for Hostin’s remarks after she learned about her slaveholding white ancestors.
Kelly said on her program ‘The Megyn Kelly Show,’ “The shame of coming from a white person, the horror! Who could talk like this?”
“Can you imagine if I went on with Henry Lewis Gates and he told me that I have black members of my family and I was like, ‘I’m deeply disappointed and ashamed.’ Can you imagine the reaction?” Kelly said.
“How dare she talk about white people like that,” Kelly added. “She gets away with it.”
Kelly said it really shouldn’t be a major surprise that Hostin has “always suspected” she had white ancestors due to the “blond hair and light eyes” of her mother.
Kelly said that Hostin was never eager to take a genetic test because she “sort of knew” she had white ancestors because of how her mother looked.
“She identified herself as black race but Hispanic for ethnicity, but it turns out her race is white,” Kelly said about Hostin’s mother. “She’s European. So she was a poser.”
“She was a Rachel Dolezal is what you’re saying,” she added.
Dolezal is a white woman who pretended to be black who resigned as head of an NAACP chapter in 2015 due to the controversy over her true racial identity.

Hostin Makes Millions, Has White Slaveholding Ancestors, Still Wants Reperations
Hostin, like many other advocates of reparations, would theoretically be in the amusing situation where, as a white person, she is forced to pay herself reparations, as a black person.
“I’m sure Sunny Hostin is just fine with anybody out there who wants to identify as black in their application to Harvard, which by the way is where her son goes,” Kelly noted. “And she lives in a multimillion dollar estate. We have the pictures here from a magazine shoot she did not long ago.”
“And she makes millions of dollars on ‘The View,’ but she still wants your reparations,” Kelly finished.
