The Media Couldn’t Protect Biden from Himself – Their Tricks Backfired And He Blew It

trump won the debate

In the final debate, President Trump and former Vice President Biden had one last opportunity to move the sliver of undecided voters in the handful of states that will decide this election.

Unfortunately for the Biden campaign, President Trump made the most of that opportunity while Biden squandered it.

From the very beginning of this campaign, the media has been doing everything they can to protect Joe Biden. The media’s wall around Biden has never been more obvious than it has been during the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.

Despite the fact that neither Joe Biden nor Hunter Biden has ever said that the laptop or the emails were fake, the media has chosen to disregard the story, with some in the media bizarrely claiming that the laptop wasn’t “verified” while others pushed baseless conspiracy theories that the laptop was somehow the product of a “Russian disinformation campaign.”

Media Runs Cover For Joe Biden

But the media’s efforts to protect Joe Biden didn’t start with the Hunter Biden scandal.

Since Biden wrapped up the Democratic nomination in the spring, the media has refused to press Biden on any issue of note.

They have given him a free pass to try and have it both ways on the Green New Deal, on Court packing, on crime, on Antifa, the list goes on and on.

The one thing the media couldn’t protect Biden from was front and center last night: Biden himself.

Last night, thanks in part to debate rules that the organizers thought would hurt Trump, the President offered some of his most cogent and strong defenses of his record and his policies, while at the same time painting Biden as a do-nothing career politician.

Biden’s Radical Comments On Fracking And The Oil Industry

Trump called out Biden’s double talk on fracking – a huge issue in the key swing state of Pennsylvania – and got Biden to admit that he wants to do away with fossil fuels all together.

Biden got so flustered during the debate when talking about the President’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic, that when the moderator asked him if he wanted to respond to President Trump’s point that Biden didn’t think we should have closed the border with China, Biden simply said, “no.”

Biden’s attacks on Trump fell painfully flat. When the former Vice President tried to attack Trump over his tax returns, Trump delivered this uppercut:

“Let me just say this, Mueller and 18 angry Democrats and FBI agents all over the place spent $48 million. They went through everything I had, including my tax returns, and they found absolutely no collusion and nothing wrong, $48 million.

I guarantee you, if I spent $1 million on you, Joe, I could find plenty wrong…”

It wasn’t just on Trump’s taxes where an attempted Biden attack on the President boomeranged back at Biden. On the question of family separation at the border, Trump asked, “who built the cages, Joe?”

Biden attempted to dodge that question three times, before falling back on the “I was just the Vice President” defense.

Trump Won The Debate And Landed All His Punches On Hapless Biden

While Biden’s attacks fell flat, and often came back to bite him, President Trump landed devastating blow after devastating blow.

In probably the most memorable and powerful back and forth of the night, in response to an answer by Biden about what he would do on criminal justice reform, Trump said:

“But why didn’t he do it four years ago? Why didn’t you do that four years ago? Even less than that.

Why didn’t you when you were Vice President. You keep talking about all these things you are going to do, and you are going to do this, but you were there just a short time ago and you guys did nothing. You know Joe, I ran because of you.

I ran because of Barack Obama, because you did a poor job. If I though you did a good job, I would’ve never run. I ran because of you.

I’m looking at you now, you’re a politician. I ran because of you.”

Last night, was a clear reminder of why the press has worked so hard to protect Joe Biden – he’s an absolute disaster.

The media couldn’t protect him on that debate stage and the American people got to see first-hand just how unprepared to lead Biden actually is.
