Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is backing a pardon for Army Sergeant Daniel Perry who was convicted of murder for fatally shooting an armed BLM (Black Lives Matter) protester.

The protester, an Air Force veteran named Garrett Foster, was carrying a rifle during a protest in downtown Austin in July of 2020.

Perry’s defense had argued that Foster was part of an angry mob that had encircled his vehicle, which he had been using as an Uber driver at the time, and the victim had raised his weapon to what appears to be low ready, pointed in the direction of Perry.

Perry, they argued, had acted in self-defense.

Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza, a George Soros-backed prosecutor, charged Perry with murder and convinced a jury to rule in his favor.

Perry is now facing a life sentence following his conviction.

Texas AG Backs Pardon For Uber Driver Who Killed BLM Protester

Always keep in mind that while the left wants you to think they’re simply going after Trump and his campaign criminally, Soros-backed DAs across the country will track down even the average person in their pursuit to protect people of the same political persuasion.

It’s part of an ongoing effort to weaponize government resources against the average American.

“When Garrett Foster pointed his AK-47 at Daniel Perry, Daniel had two-tenths of a second to defend himself. He chose to live,” Perry’s attorney told Fox News.

“If you point a firearm at someone, you’re responsible for everything that happens next.”

If you illegally block off public roads and then surround a vehicle menacingly, it doesn’t even require an AK-47 pointed in the general direction of the driver to warrant a swift response. At least, that would be the case in a rational country.

What if Perry had been in the car with his wife and/or children? Is he supposed to wait and make sure this was just another of those ‘peaceful’ BLM protesters he had heard so much about on the news?

Paxton joined “Fox & Friends” to discuss the case, pointing out the dangers of a rogue Soros prosecutor going after civilians in an effort to score political points.

“The legislature needs to address malicious prosecutions, and prosecutors who are not doing their jobs are not prosecuting real crimes,” Paxton insisted.

“This guy (Garza) ignores real crime, lots of property crimes, drug crimes, abortion, any crimes that he doesn’t like, he nullifies,” he added. “And then he maliciously prosecutes people that he doesn’t like for political purposes.”

The Texas BLM self-defense case seems to be part of a growing trend.

Calls for Perry’s Pardon

The conviction of Army Sergeant Daniel Perry should be seen through the lends of trying to “right” the perceived wrongs of the Kyle Rittenhouse acquittal.

To the left, Perry is a notch on their political belt.

As such, Paxton is backing growing support for issuing a pardon to Perry, who had every right to self-defense.

“I sincerely hope that they will take what’s happened into account, especially what you talked about, the investigator, and then let this guy get a pardon because he does not deserve to go to prison,” he said, referencing the Texas state parole board’s review on the matter.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has indicated he would pursue a pardon at the earliest possible moment.

“I am working as swiftly as Texas law allows regarding the pardon of Sgt. Perry,” Abbott tweeted over the weekend.

Abbott said ‘stand your ground’ laws in Texas can’t simply be “nullified” by a progressive District Attorney with an agenda.

Garza has also been accused of witness tampering and withholding evidence by investigators in the case.

Meanwhile, a local news affiliate analyzed past cases and noted Garza had dismissed dozens of felony cases for serious crimes over the years.
