Lost in the flurry of sexual misconduct allegations this week has been news covering the GOP plan to cut taxes for the American people.
CNN held a tag team debate featuring socialist curmudgeon Bernie Sanders, Democrat Maria Cantwell, and Republicans Ted Cruz and Tim Scott.
We know Cruz and Scott are unified on cutting taxes because they’re both Republicans and fans of capitalism. But what unites a socialist and a Democrat?
Better yet, Cruz decided he wanted to know what was the difference between the two. The answer speaks volumes about how radical the Democrat Party has become.
“Now, Bernie and I have done three of these debates,” Cruz said to Cantwell. “I like debating Bernie because he’s honest, he’s candid. He is a socialist. He admits he’s a socialist. He wants to raise everyone’s taxes.”
He continued, “And so, Maria, I’d like to actually ask you a question that I asked Bernie last time, which is — since this is a tax debate, what is the difference between a Democrat and a socialist on taxes?”
“You know, Ted, I really thought about this issue of you trying to divide the Democrats,” Cantwell responded. “But we’re a big-tent party. There’s room for Bernie and there’s room for me. The difference is you guys keep trying to isolate your party.”
Thumbing through my handy Democrat-to-English dictionary, I see that this answer clearly indicates Cantwell is unable to distinguish between the two.
She would have been better off trimming the response to a simple “No clue.”

This isn’t the first time a leftist has been stumped by the question ‘what’s the difference between a socialist and a Democrat?’
The other man in that pairing, Sanders himself, was unable to answer the riddle at last month’s tax debate.
