Surprise! James Comey Actively Campaigning for Virginia Democrat – Blasts “Racist” Republicans

It’s election day – and anti-Trump former FBI Director James Comey is out encouraging people to get out the vote. For who? Far-left Virginia Democrat Jennifer Wexton.

In addition to the door to door campaigning, Comey published an op-ed in the New York Times today, in which he repeats all the usual hysterical left-wing rhetoric about Donald Trump:

“I feel the giant stirring. The awakening is slow, but it is underway … The lying, misogyny, racism and attacks on the rule of law from our president. These things poke the giant. It takes time, but the American people are stirring.”

And in a BBC interview released today, Comey said he doesn’t believe “President Trump is morally fit to be President of the United States.”

So on that note, it’s safe to say that Comey is putting his weight behind all the Democrats this midterm cycle. Some couldn’t hold back their excitement:

Democrats still don’t like James Comey?

Remember, this is the same James Comey who has been described by every major media outlet as a Republican.

Amusingly, there are still Democrats who blame James Comey for Hillary’s loss in 2016 (because of the FBI investigation into her private email server). I guess they’re forgetting that the FBI also had a secret counterintelligence probe into the Trump campaign, and had spies within the Trump campaign? If there’s a side the FBI was aiding, it sure wasn’t Trump’s.

Still, a large faction of the left does blame Comey for Hillary’s loss, and he’s kidding himself if he thinks he’s going to redeem himself in their eyes. No one is ever fully redeemable in the eyes of the modern American left.

Comey said in April that he was no longer a Republican, as he claims he was “driven from” the party by “Trumpian politics.” It’s practically cliche at this point for a pundit or public figure, upon opportunistically changing their political party, to claim, “I didn’t leave the party, the party left me.”

Democrats have moved to the extreme left, Republicans remain center-right

And for those claiming to be former Republicans, it’s a bald-faced lie. The “Trumpian” Republican Party is nearly ideologically identical to the “Reaganite” Republican party of the 1980s. In fact, the Republican Party has barely budged ideologically in four decades, while the Democrats went from a center-left to far-left party. At least, those were the results of a Pew Research Study on the changing ideology of the Republican and Democratic parties.

And research from The Economist found much of the same.

Republicans didn’t “abandon” James Comey and the rest of the “never-Trump” crowd – they were in the wrong party to begin with.

I’m happy Comey has found a home with the Democrats, though to be perfectly honest, I’m not sure they want him all that much either.
