Substitute Teacher Fired For Singing Britney Spears In Class Instead Of Teaching

A substitute teacher in Texas was recently relieved of his teaching duties after singing, “Toxic,” by Britney Spears, on a karaoke machine in the classroom instead of teaching.

This incident happened in the city of Austin – widely known as a very liberal archipelago in the red state of Texas.

Student-Made Video Busted ‘Teacher’

The teacher can be seen in a video taken by a student singing Britney Spears’ “Toxic” into a karaoke machine.

The teacher’s name has not been released by the school. The original video was shared by the New York Post.

In the video, you see the karaoke machine making the classroom look colorful, while students sat at their desks and watched the teacher singing.

“Taste of your lips, I’m on a ride. You’re toxic, I’m slipping under. With a taste of a poison paradise, I’m addicted to you. Don’t you know that you’re toxic,” the teacher sang.

Students can be hears talking quietly in the background as the flashing and multicolored lights continued to shine, and students can be heard talking quietly in the background.

Local news affiliate KXAN reported that the teacher may also have sung a Lady Gaga song before being removed from the premises.

“I’ve heard worse Britney Spears covers, but the lights are a bit much,” a school district spokesperson told the Post. “All processes were followed, it was simply a case of a substitute not following our practices.”

School officials said that the teacher has been removed from their poll of substitute teachers.
