The White House Office of Management and Budget, led by Russell Vought, diverts $15 million from the remnants of USAID's budget to fund his U.S. Marshals security detail through 2026. Vought, Trump's budget director and Project 2025 architect, helped gut the agency last year, slashing it to just 100 staff closing operations by September. This move comes after an attempted murder threat at his home, with over a dozen marshals now protecting him.
