Trump's 15% Tariffs Face Court Fight, But Time Runs Short
February 24, 2026·about 5 hours ago·via The Washington Post

The Supreme Court just slapped down President Trump's IEEPA tariffs on February 20, ruling 6-3 that the law doesn't authorize the president to impose taxes like tariffs - that's Congress's job under the Constitution. Undeterred, Trump pivoted fast, invoking Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 to slap a 10% global tariff hours after the ruling, then bumping it to the max 15% the next day, effective today and lasting up to 150 days unless Congress extends it.
