February 23, 2026·2 days ago·via The New York Times

President Trump's trade officer stands firm, declaring no change to tariff policy after the Supreme Court struck down IEEPA-based tariffs on February 20, 2026, ruling the President exceeded his authority. The administration quickly pivoted, imposing a flat 15% tariff on all imports under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 for up to 150 days, exempting USMCA goods from Canada and Mexico, critical minerals, energy, ag products, pharma, and electronics.
