A repeat offender, Oscar Freemond Fowler III, labeled a "danger to the community" by federal prosecutors, walks free after serving just two years of a 12.5-year sentence for gun and cocaine charges. Biden's autopen signed off on commuting his sentence in a January 17, 2025, batch of over 2,500 clemencies, despite Justice Department warnings that many recipients were violent criminals, not the nonviolent drug offenders claimed.
