Judge Orders ICE to Allow Communion for Detained Migrants

A federal judge just ruled that ICE must permit clergy from the Coalition for Spiritual and Public Leadership to enter a Chicago-area detention center on Ash Wednesday to distribute ashes and Communion to illegal migrants who want them. This comes after faith leaders twice tried and failed to gain access for similar religious services, including on All Saints' Day and Día de los Muertos, claiming ICE violated their religious freedoms despite following all protocols.
