DOJ Pays Flynn $1.2M to Settle Bogus Prosecution Suit
The Justice Department agrees to pay former Trump national security advisor Michael Flynn roughly $1.2 million to settle his lawsuit alleging wrongful and politically motivated prosecution during the Russia hoax probe. Flynn, a retired Army lieutenant general, sued for $50 million in 2023, claiming the government targeted him for his ties to Trump's 2016 campaign and White House role after charging him in 2017 for false statements to the FBI about talks with Russia's ambassador.
