A nearly blind Rohingya refugee, Nurul Amin Shah Alam, 56, is found dead on a Buffalo street five days after U.S. Border Patrol agents released him at a Tim Hortons doughnut shop miles from home. Alam, who spoke no English and used a curtain rod as a cane, had just been bailed out of Erie County Holding Center on February 19 following a misdemeanor plea from a 2025 trespass incident.
