Starbucks Once Refused to Let A Cop Use The Restroom, No One Cared

cop refused bathroom starbucks

A Starbucks once refused a police officer access to their restroom because he wasn’t a paying customer, and to nobody’s surprise there were no protests and the coffee chain didn’t shut down over 8,000 stores to offer their employees sensitivity training.

The incident took place in Philadelphia in 2015, when an officer asked to use a restroom that had a security key code on it.

The sergeant posted his experience on Facebook, describing a “young blonde liberal” who “stated in a loud voice … that the bathroom is for paying customers only.”

“She continued loudly to tell me about the bathroom down the street,” he added. “I was even more astonished that the many customers and other employees said nothing and seemed indifferent.”

The corporate office would eventually apologize to the officer but didn’t choose a day to halt business and re-train their employees on how to properly treat law enforcement.

Fast-forward a few years when two African-American men were asked to leave a Starbucks in Philadelphia because they weren’t paying customers and regardless, had requested use of the restroom.

The outrage led to a decision by the CEO of Starbucks to close over 8,000 stores in May to conduct ‘racial-bias education’ for over 175,000 employees.

“Closing our stores for racial bias training is just one step in a journey that requires dedication from every level of our company and partnerships in our local communities,” CEO Kevin Johnson said in a statement.

They even enlisted the help of Former Obama Attorney General, Eric Holder, who was named as one of the ‘educators’ for the racial-bias education program.

Yes, the man who hasn’t found a race card he’s unwilling to use is training baristas on how to identify “implicit bias, promote inclusion and help prevent discrimination.”

Where was the training for employees so they would include and prevent discrimination of police officers?
