Conservatives on social media expressed doubts that Hunter Biden will face any form of punishment after reports surfaced indicating federal agents feel they have enough evidence to charge the First Son with multiple crimes.

The Washington Post first reported on the developments in the case, writing that the son of the current sitting President could be charged with tax crimes and a false statement related to a gun purchase.

The investigation has been ongoing since 2018.

“Initially, the investigation centered around Hunter Biden’s finances related to overseas business ties and consulting work,” the Post writes.

“Over time, investigators with multiple agencies focused closely on whether he did not report all of his income, and whether he lied on gun purchase paperwork in 2018.”

Hunter Biden Investigation May Lead to Charges

Hunter Biden had reportedly responded “no” to a question on a Firearms Transaction Record that asks, “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?”

Biden was discharged from the Navy Reserve after failing a cocaine test and has an open and well-documented history of drug use.

“Lying on the form is a felony,” Politico has reported, “though prosecutions for it are exceedingly rare.”

The Post reports that David Weiss, the U.S. Attorney in Delaware, must now decide on whether or not to file those charges.

And with that, some conservatives online expressed serious doubts that Hunter would ever face punishment and would likely walk away with a slap on the wrist.

“Finally, they’ll let him keep getting away with it,” Substack writer Jim Treacher wrote.

“Hunter Biden isn’t going to be charged,” one skeptic wrote.

Another Twitter user added, “Literally everybody knows how this is gonna turn out.”

And then there were some who joked about just how brazen Hunter might be if he gets off without being charged criminally.

Liberals Outraged Over Leaks Before the Midterms

The left-wing response to the news that charges could – COULD – be coming for Hunter Biden was vastly different.

Pundits seemed more focused on expressing sudden outrage that the FBI would dare leak such news, especially so close to the midterms.

Let’s begin with Biden’s lawyer, who claims any sources that leaked the status of the investigation to the media should be punished criminally themselves.

“It is a federal felony for a federal agent to leak information about a Grand Jury investigation such as this one,” the lawyer said in a statement. “Any agent you cite as a source in your article apparently has committed such a felony.”

Political pundit Elie Mystal was also outraged over the leaks.

“Since apparently it’s okay for (the DOJ) to leak now, COULD WE GET SOME INFORMATION ABOUT WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO CHARGE DONALD TRUMP AND HIS PEOPLE FOR THE ATTEMPTED COUP?”

Mystal, who often misses things, apparently missed that the DOJ has been leaking negative information about Republicans for years and the media didn’t have a problem with it.

“Leaking to The Washington Post 30+ days before the mid-terms (is) in complete violation of the so-called DOJ policy,” wrote author Don Winslow.

Bloomberg News reports that there is a longstanding policy at the Department of Justice (DOJ) to not conduct any investigative steps within 60 days of an election.

Liberals, however, seem to only care about that policy when it comes to possible charges facing Hunter Biden.

Stephen Miller, a contributing editor for The Spectator World, joked about the hypocrisy on display.

“FBI leaks are bad again everyone!” he tweeted.

As The Political Insider reported last month, two top aides to former President Donald Trump had their cellphones seized while roughly 40 other associates were issued subpoenas by the Justice Department within the 60-day timeframe.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell – an ally of President Donald Trump – was very recently served with a search warrant and had his cellphone seized by the FBI while sitting at the drive-thru of a Hardee’s in Minnesota.

There was very little media outrage.

Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
