Senator Dianne Feinstein And Democrats Introduce Bill to Ban Hundreds of Guns in America

Democrats are coming for your guns. And they aren’t making many exceptions.

Seriously, it’s true. California senator Dianne Feinstein just released a gun control bill. And, boy, is it a doozy.

From the Washington Examiner: “The bill — sponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and other Senate Democrats — would make it illegal to sell more than 200 types of semi-automatic weapons as well as magazines holding more than ten rounds of ammunition. The proposal would also ban devices that ramp up firing speed, such as the bump stock used in the Las Vegas shooting last month.”

There’s wrongheaded legislation, and there’s just wrong legislation. The Feinstein bill is an example of the latter. Just from the looks of it, the bill would ban a huge number of guns on the market, without little exception.

We really need to refer to the Feinstein bill as a "gun ban". That's what it clearly is, no matter what euphemisms they use. It's not an "assault weapon" ban, it's a gun ban. @AWRHawkins

The problem is, the language is so broad, that it could be used to target any kind of gun. Feinstein says her bill will ban “military-style assault weapons,” even though any gun could be classified as such given the right accessories.

Thankfully, since Republicans control Congress, the chance that this bill becomes law is very small. Even so, Feinstein’s introduction of the bill shows the kind of contempt Democrats have for the Second Amendment. If it were up to them, the entire populace would be disarmed and left to the mercy of criminals.

Is that the kind of country we want to live in?

I don’t think so. Feinstein’s draconian bill also shows the Democrats have no interest in having a real debate on gun control. They want a ban, and they want it now. No excuses. It’s a very dangerous game they’re playing, and one that conservatives should be wary of.
