Sarah Sanders Slams Obama: If He Cared About Democracy He Wouldn’t Have Spied On Trump

Sarah Huckabee Sanders torched Barack Obama following his speech to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) Wednesday, suggesting that had he been truly concerned about democracy he wouldn’t have spied on a political adversary’s campaign.

The former White House Press Secretary took aim at Obama’s comments insinuating that democracy hangs in the balance in the upcoming election.

“This administration has shown it will tear our democracy down if that’s what it takes to win,” he said.

“President Obama’s rhetoric about democracy would carry more weight if his administration hadn’t illegally spied on the Trump campaign and tried to overturn the results of the 2016 election,” Sanders fired back on Twitter.

Democracy was such a prevalent theme in Obama’s speech that he used the term 18 times, though there is still little indication he knows what Democracy actually is.

Obama Spied

It was just weeks ago that newly declassified documents showed FBI officials had used a national security briefing of then-candidate Donald Trump and his top aides to gather possible evidence for the Russia hoax.

“It is astonishing that the media refuses to see what is one of the biggest stories in decades,” prominent law professor Jonathan Turley wrote in The Hill. “The Obama administration targeted the campaign of the opposing party based on false evidence.”

Handwritten notes by former FBI special agent Peter Strzok which surfaced in June show Joe Biden suggesting General Michael Flynn be pursued over the “Logan Act,” while Obama advised that “the right people” need to look into Trump’s former National Security Adviser.

And Kevin Clinesmith, one of the FBI officials involved in gathering evidence in the Russia investigation, pled guilty earlier this week after he was accused by the Justice Department’s Inspector General of altering an email about former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

The doctored email allowed the Justice Department to submit a renewal application in 2017 to eavesdrop on Page under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Sanders Offers More Advice

Sanders later offered some advice to President Trump and the Republican National Convention (RNC) – and it’s really a no-brainer.

Counter the absolute snooze-fest, the bitterness and hatred, the desire to change our nation emanating from the participants in the DNC with a vociferous defense of America.

Focusing on optimism and the good in this country will almost assuredly make the RNC event a far better performance than what we’ve seen from Democrats, clinging bitterly to their anti-American views, this week.
