‘Roseanne’ Star Says Female Trump Supporters Can’t Think For Themselves

Sandra Bernhard

Not everybody in the cast of the “Roseanne” reboot has an open mind about Trump supporters.

Actress Sandra Bernhard took Hillary Clinton’s comments about “deplorables” and white women being “pressured” by their husbands to vote for Trump, and doubled down on them.

Let’s rephrase – she didn’t double down on them, she stood on the pile of insults, poured gasoline on them, and dropped a nuclear bomb.

Bernhard, who plays Nancy Bartlett Thomas on the hit comedy, launched a truly vile rant against women who support President Trump, saying they can’t think for themselves and must have been intimidated by Hillary’s superior intellect.

Ari Melber of MSNBC interviewed Bernhard, asking her thoughts on “white women for Trump.”

“Can’t understand it,” she said. “Don’t know where it comes from.”

She then proceeded to explain where it comes from, and pretended she understood it.

“I think it’s being either under the thumb of your husband or, for the election, it was being so offended by Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton’s legacy that you turned on her,” Bernhard said to women. “Or feeling inadequate, feeling like how can somebody be so educated?”

“I think that is threatening to a lot of women.”

Yeah, no.

There are a million reasons why women voted against Hillary, but being intimidated by her intellect was way down the list. This is, after all, a woman who wasn’t smart enough to use a legal government email, thought you wiped a server “like, with a cloth” and wasn’t savvy enough to campaign in places like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, to name just a few examples.

Actually, the leading topics for women and how they voted in 2016 were the economy and terrorism, both topics Trump explained to the American people exponentially better than Hillary.

The ill-informed comedienne continued hammering and degrading female supporters of the President, saying they have “given in” by choosing to raise their children and don’t have “the luxury of being able to think for themselves.”

Bernhard believes women who raise children have it easy and get to “lean on somebody else financially.”

By contrast, Hillary supporters have “to get up every day and go work.”

That may be the most unintentionally funny thing we’ve seen in a while. Hillary and the Democrats do everything in their power to prevent people from working and encourage them to suck the system dry through government handouts.

The comments are so pathetic that they are laughable. Is there anything more disgusting to say about women than:

  1. They’re controlled by their husbands.
  2. They’re not smart enough to comprehend an educated person.
  3. They’re barefoot and pregnant rather than working.
  4. They have to rely on their husbands for money.

If anybody on the right even vaguely suggested one of these ideas, they’d be on the news in a looping 24/7 cycle. And rightfully so!

This isn’t the most abhorrent thing Bernhard has said about women she disagrees with.

In 2008, she threatened then-vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, saying she would be “gang-raped by my big black brothers” if she dared to make an appearance in Manhattan.

Fortunately, the actress will not make an appearance in the reboot of Roseanne until the eighth and final episode this season.

Alright, ladies – Tell us how you feel about Bernhard’s comments disparaging you as uneducated and controlled by your husbands!
