The conservative talk radio legend Rush Limbaugh missed his show on Wednesday as he continues to battle advanced lung cancer.
Producer Asks For Prayers
Producer James Golden, who is known by his pseudonym Bo Snerdley on Limbaugh’s show, gave fans a quick update on the host’s fight against cancer while also asking for prayers for him.
“Our prayers are with Rush as he continues to fight the illness he as [sic] been afflicted with,” Golden tweeted. “We are still praying for a remission.”
“Today @KenMatthews will fill in for Rush,” he added. “Thanks for all of your prayers, kind words and wishes for our Rush. God Bless you.”

Limbaugh has been off the air since February 2, and Golden would not provide any further details when contacted by Fox News.
Matthews, who filled in for Limbaugh on yesterday’s show, honored the radio legend by posting a photo of them together.

Limbaugh’s Cancer Broke
Limbaugh, 70, was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in January of last year. Soon after news of this broke, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by then-President Donald Trump at the State of the Union address that year.
While Limbaugh has missed shows at various times to undergo treatments, he has always come back to the golden microphone whenever he is up to it. He ended his final radio show of 2020 by thanking all the fans who have supported him in his cancer fight.
“My point in all of this today is gratitude,” he said. “My point in all of this is to say thanks and tell everybody involved how much I love you from the bottom of a sizable and growing and still-beating heart.”

Limbaugh Says He’s ‘Under A Death Sentence
Back in October, Limbaugh revealed to his listeners that he is effectively “under a death sentence” because of his cancer.
“It’s tough to realize that the days where I do not think I’m under a death sentence are over,” Limbaugh said. “Now, we all are, is the point.”
“We all know that we’re going to die at some point, but when you have a terminal disease diagnosis that has a time frame to it, then that puts a different psychological and even physical awareness to it,” he continued.

Limbaugh also opened up about the impact this diagnosis has had on him personally, as well as on those close to him.
“I can’t be self-absorbed about it, when that is the tendency when you are told that you’ve got a due date,” he said, becoming emotional. “You have an expiration date. A lot of people never get told that, so they don’t face life this way.”
