Report: Some Of Biden’s Free At-Home COVID Tests Were Made In China

Free at-home COVID tests being distributed by the Biden administration through the USPS are, according to their labels, "made in China."

Some free at-home COVID tests being distributed by the Biden administration through the United States Postal Service (USPS) are, according to their labels, “made in China.”

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer praised the federal government for getting the tests shipped out in a timely manner under the President’s new testing initiative, but criticized the fact that the tests are being produced by the country that originated the pandemic.

“I got mine yesterday. All four of them came. Congrats U.S. government. U.S. Postal Service did a great job. Got my four tests,” Hemmer said, holding up one of the test kits.

“And on the back of the fine print, Dana, it is made in China,” he told co-host Dana Perino.

“Of course,” Perino replied, unsurprised.

Made In China

There’s really no surprise here that the at-home tests being distributed by the American government were actually made in China.

Roughly two weeks ago, Reuters reported that Andon Health Co. Ltd. would be providing self-testing kits to the United States. Andon Health has its headquarters in China.

And they were paid handsomely for those tests.

According to the report, Andon signed a contract worth $1.28 billion with the U.S. Army Contracting Command.

While former President Donald Trump is calling on China to pay reparations for the harm they have caused the world with the pandemic, the Biden administration is paying Chinese labs for COVID tests.

“China has to pay, they have to do something,” Trump said. “They have to pay reparations and China doesn’t have the money to pay those reparations.”

Buy American

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) called on the Biden administration in early January to buy American-made at-home COVID tests and prohibit taxpayer money from being distributed to China.

“It is my expectation that the Biden administration ensures that not a single dollar of taxpayer funding is used to purchase COVID-19 tests manufactured in Communist China,” said in a letter to Health and Human Service Secretary Xavier Becerra.

“The federal government has a responsibility to support American manufacturers, and we cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that it was the Chinese Communist Party that lied about this deadly virus, tried to hide it, and has continuously covered up the origins of COVID-19,” he added.

Senator Scott was understandably irate to learn that, against his request, the Biden administration is sending Americans COVID tests made in China.

A statement from his office explains that Scott finds it “unacceptable that the Biden administration would spend American taxpayer dollars on COVID tests from Communist China.”

He contends that the American taxpayer dollars “just goes directly to supporting General Secretary Xi and his genocidal regime, instead of supporting American manufacturers and jobs.”

The Biden administration has defended the move citing a short supply of at-home testing and noting that not all of the tests have been produced in China.

“We are procuring as many US-made at-home tests as are available to purchase, while also purchasing additional, FDA authorized at-home tests that are made in other parts of the world,” an official told Fox News Digital.

They add that every at-home test distributed to Americans, even those made in China “underwent a rigorous FDA approval process guaranteeing that it is of the highest quality.”

Earlier this month, members of the House of Representatives were given KN95 masks to wear on the chamber floor. The masks were stamped with the words “MADE IN CHINA” on the side.
