A new report indicates the number of illegal immigrants being held in detention centers is up by more than 50% since President Biden took office.
A stunning report by the Texas Tribune shows that after an initial dip prior to his inauguration and even one month into his term, things have changed drastically under Biden.
What’s that? You haven’t heard this news? I’m shocked!
Democrats haven’t accused Biden of “running concentration camps”? I’m shocked again!
“On Oct. 1, a recorded 22,129 immigrants were in ICE detention centers, a 56% increase since Biden took office,” the Tribune writes, citing statistics compiled by Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC).
Of those being held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers, 75% have no criminal record, according to the report.
Though, as we’ve often noted, 100% of those who cross the border illegally have committed a crime by … crossing the border illegally.

More Illegal Immigrants In Detention Centers Under Biden
One immigration lawyer interviewed by the Tribune states that on the issue of illegal immigrant detainees, “we’re not seeing a whole ton of change” since Biden stepped in.
“We are returning to sort of a pre-pandemic normal, rather than a stark departure from the Trump administration,” says César Cuauhtémoc García Hernández.
Another lawyer, Kathrine Russell, said that illegal immigrants had “hope for the Biden administration that they would at least very significantly limit or lessen the use of immigration detention.”
“Unfortunately, that does not seem to have happened whatsoever,” she adds.

The Texas Tribune report does attempt to deflect some of the blame away from Biden noting that the President provides guidance but ICE agents are given the discretion to act.
“It doesn’t require agents to follow the guidance,” they write.
Still, citing a policy director at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, the Tribune adds: “The Biden administration’s record on immigration hasn’t been significantly different from Trump’s in some ways.”
@AOC, an actual coward who only talks tough when it comes to Trump, hasn’t mentioned the phrase “concentration camps” since Biden became President.

Nobody Mentioning Concentration Camps
What has changed under the Biden administration are the number of media reports covering the illegal immigrant detention centers or the number of Democrats feigning outrage.
Case in point, we had to dig this report up from the Texas Tribune. There is no current coverage on the matter by the New York Times, CNN, or MSNBC.
Additionally, there have been no staged photo ops at the border by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), no cries over illegal immigrants being held in “concentration camps,” something she did repeatedly under the Trump administration.
I’ll never forget this, because it was the moment I saw with my own eyes that the America I love was becoming a nation that steals refugee children from their parents,& caged them.
More kids died after this. To date, no one has been held accountable.
We need to save these kids. https://t.co/HhdMqc5zML

“That is exactly what they are. They are concentration camps,” AOC claimed in an Instagram video in 2019.
“I don’t use those words lightly,” she added. “I don’t use those words to just throw bombs.”
“I use that word because that is what an administration that creates concentration camps is. A presidency that creates concentration camps is fascist and it’s very difficult to say that.”
Under President Biden, there are more illegal immigrants being held in ‘fascist concentration camps’ and the left’s warrior is nowhere to be found.
This video was from 1 year ago this week – before my primary & the Fox News cycle.
I flew to the concentration camp where the Trump admin was keeping children they stole from their parents.

Ocasio-Cortez has offered some criticism in the past for the Biden administration at the border, but it has been far more muted than the bomb-throwing she did under President Trump.
In February, she scrutinized the Biden administration for opening what the Washington Post called a “migrant facility for children” at the time, but stopped short of referring to them as “concentration camps.”
In April, she was a little more worked up, taking a stance against “horrifying” conditions at the border under Biden and demanding families separated under the previous administration be given “reparations.”
Oddly enough, the President listened, agreeing that illegal immigrants who were separated at the border under the previous administration “deserve” payment for their troubles.

At the same time, Ocasio-Cortez downplayed calling the crisis at the border a “surge,” claiming such a term promotes a “militaristic frame” that is “a white supremacist idea.”
AOC has made no mention of this latest report, however. She’s been relatively quiet and reserved about the crisis at the border ever since January of 2021.
What could possibly have changed around that time to convert her from a person willing to compare detention centers to ‘concentration camps’ to the meek and mild non-advocate for illegal immigrants that she’s become?
