Ahmed Hirsi, the husband of Rep. Ilhan Omar, is reportedly seeking to file for divorce following bombshell reports that his wife was carrying out an affair with a political consultant.
The New York Post, citing a source that has been close to the couple for two decades, reports that Hirsi had initially refused to file despite Omar’s requests that he do so back in March.
That all changed when the wife of consultant Tim Mynett, the Minnesota Democrat’s paramour, alleged in court documents that he carried out an affair and made a “declaration of love” for Omar.
Hirsi, according to the report, “changed his mind after Tim Mynett’s wife last week filed bombshell divorce papers claiming her spouse was having an affair with the Somali-born US representative.”
The Post adds that “Hirsi [is] said to be angry he had been made to look the fool by the allegations of an extramarital affair.”

Oh man – if this guy talks, Omar is headed for some really rough times.
Brace yourselves.
From what I know, this is about to get much, much worse.

Hirsi signaling that he is willing to open up about the situation – whether through court filings or the media – is a sign of significant trouble for Omar.
The congresswoman has thus far chosen to avoid questions about the affair or flat-out denied them.
WCCO recently asked if she was separated from her husband or if she was dating anyone, to which the Democrat indicated she didn’t want to talk about her “personal life.”
“No, I am not,” Omar insisted. “I have no interest in allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue and so I have no desire to discuss it.”

Beyond simple tabloid fodder, the Omar affair is troublesome because the Democrat’s campaign appears to have funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to Mynett’s firm, E Street Group consulting, since 2018.
Further questions have dogged Omar stemming from marital complications, including whether or not she may have committed tax fraud and married her own brother in an attempt to circumvent immigration laws.
Power Line blog, which the Minneapolis Star-Tribune cited as a source for the allegations of Omar’s marriage to her brother, is reporting that their sources indicate Omar is opening up on quite a bit in the wake of the affair.
They indicate that “Omar did indeed marry her brother (Ahmed Elmi) for fraudulent purposes” and that Omar is threatening that Hirsi “would be in trouble along with her if the truth were to come out” according to their sources.
Omar’s biggest threat, like most in the Democrat party, is always the truth, isn’t it?
