Report: Hunter Biden Prosecutor Waited To Reveal Tax Investigation Until After Election

The federal prosecutor investigating Hunter Biden reportedly kept the probe under wraps following pressure from officials to not alert the public during a presidential election.
Politico reports that the investigation into the President’s son’s taxes had advanced to the point “where prosecutors could have sought search warrants and issued a flurry of grand jury subpoenas” over the summer.
They reveal that some officials involved with the case wanted to move forward while others insisted the timing would be unwise to do so.
“They advised Delaware’s U.S. Attorney, David Weiss, to avoid taking any actions that could alert the public to the existence of the case in the middle of a presidential election,” they write.
Politico goes on to note that Weiss, according to one source, “listened” and averted “the possibility that the investigation would become a months-long campaign issue.”

Hunter Biden Prosecutor Hid Probe
Hunter Biden, just weeks after the election and only after his father’s victory had been certified, revealed that federal prosecutors in Delaware had been investigating his “tax affairs.”
“I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs,” Hunter said in a statement.
Had Weiss chosen to move on subpoenas and warrants, the investigation would have been revealed well before the election.
Because of course he did. See the pattern yet?

Even so, a report pertaining to the tax investigation in December indicated the Justice Department began the probe in 2018, a year before Joe Biden had even announced his campaign for the presidency.
How were Weiss, the other officials involved in the case, and the media able to keep the information under wraps? Would a son or daughter of Donald Trump have been afforded the same courtesy?

The Cover-up
Politico reports that the probe had, aside from looking into possible tax law violations, also “examined Hunter Biden’s business dealings with foreign interests.”
They add that such a revelation had “animated Biden detractors” ever since the controversial story involving Hunter’s laptop emerged in October.
The media had deliberately buried a New York Post story involving emails found on Hunter Biden’s laptop which seemed to discuss shady business dealings with foreign entities.

Best-selling author Bernie Goldberg argued in a column for The Hill that the media purposely buried coverage of the Hunter Biden scandal as a collective means “to put a lid on any news that might hurt then-presidential candidate Joe Biden.”
And when it seemed obvious that the President’s son’s laptop and it’s contents were legitimate, they shifted to calling the story ‘Russian disinformation.’

The media we get – they are, after all, an arm of the DNC.
But why would any prosecutor at the federal level make a prosecutorial decision based on anything other than the law? And isn’t avoiding the revelation of a criminal probe into a family member of the potential next President itself a means of swaying the election?
Politico writes that Weiss is typically “known for his willingness to take on powerful Delaware figures.”
And they excused him for not doing so in this particular case.
“Weiss’s decision to avoid revealing the investigation in a highly charged political atmosphere — a move that might have boosted Donald Trump’s campaign, even at the cost of politicizing the probe — was consistent with his sober-minded approach to his job,” the outlet claims.

Trump nominated Weiss to serve as U.S. attorney on a permanent basis in 2017 based in part on the recommendation of Delaware’s two Democratic senators.
Biden has since left him in place, even as most other U.S. attorneys under Trump were asked to resign.
