Rachel Maddow Unveils Plan to Stop Trump SCOTUS Nominee

MSNBC host and radical socialist Rachel Maddow has been suffering from a particularly severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and that’s only helped fuel her own audience’s paranoia.

Whether it be her historic episode in which she waited 45 minutes to release a completely innocuous Trump tax return from 2005, the countless other stories she’d advertised as leading to “the end of Trump,” or crying on air when reporting on Trump’s Department of Homeland Security enforcing the same policies they did under Obama, her audience only continues to grow. Why? Because hysteria is a profitable business, nowadays.

While her reporting has yet to score any actual victories against the Trump administration, she does think she can finally thwart the man. How? By stopping his next Supreme Court pick.

How would she do that? “Simple,” in her words. Just somehow convince the Republican majority in the Senate not to confirm them!

According to TheBlaze, Maddow said, “If Democrats are going to do this, every single Democrat in the Senate will need to agree to not be a doormat – that shouldn’t be that hard!” She continued; “And every single Republican senator including the pro-choice ones, will have to decide if they want to go down in history as the deciding vote to overturn Roe vs. Wade and and make abortion illegal in the United States.”

That SCOTUS will overturn Roe v. Wade had become a popular narrative among liberals who believe the sky is falling. Not only have zero of the justices currently serving expressed any intent to do so, repealing Roe v. Wade wouldn’t make abortion illegal. Abortion was legal in a handful of States prior to Roe v. Wade. The repeal of Roe v. Wade would only make it legal for individual States to ban abortion. Despite overwhelming support for a 20-week abortion ban, it’s still extremely unlikely that a blanket ban on abortions would pass in most States.

Anyway, because of the abortion issue, Maddow said “of everybody with a Democrat senator, and everybody with a Republican senator, [we now have] a thing to focus on and a thing to aim for.”

Then, after providing no explanation for why any Republican would vote against Trump’s nominees, Maddow said that “if they (Democrats) stand together and they fight this for the next four months and they win this, they will stop the Supreme Court nominee, they will save, among other things legal abortion in this country at least for the time being.” She concluded; “They will prove themselves not to be doormats the Republicans expect them to be, right?”

To be honest, I don’t know why Maddow thought this was a plan of any sort. Given that Democrats would question Trump if he declared the sky to be blue, is there any doubt most will be voting against Trump’s SCOTUS nominee?

And what exactly was her plan again for getting the same Republicans that voted for Neil Gorsuch to vote against Trump’s next SCOTUS pick? Does she really think people would be able to convince Senate Republicans to vote against pro-life justices?

Not only is she not going to get any Republicans to vote against Trump’s SCOTUS pick, there will likely be a handful of Democrats who vote with them. According to Tom Goldstein of the highly respected SCOTUSblog, Trump’s SCOTUS nominee will get 56 Senate votes. “The real issue is this, Democrats are going to have to vote because there’s no procedural way to stop it before the midterm election and there’s just too many people who are running in elections, senators, in states that Donald Trump won,” Goldstein said on MSNBC:

Good luck Rachel!
