Priscilla Presley divorced the legendary singer Elvis Presley back in 1973 after six years of marriage. This tragically ended up being just four years before Elvis would die at the age of 42 in 1977, and in the decades since then, Priscilla has never remarried.

In a new interview, Priscilla is speaking out to reveal why she decided to never walk down the aisle again.

Priscilla Reveals Why She Never Married Again

People Magazine reported that during a Q&A at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas last week, Priscilla seemed to confirm that she’d promised Elvis that she would never remarry while he was still living.

“I just don’t think that he could handle that,” said Priscilla, 78, indicating that she does not regret making this vow.

Though Priscilla could have remarried at any time in the 46 years it’s been since Elvis passed away, it’s not something that she’s ever considered, and she has one very good reason for this.

“To be honest with you, I never wanted to marry after him. I never had any desire,” she confessed. “No one could ever match him.”

Though Priscilla never remarried, she was in longterm relationship with the entrepreneur Marco Garibaldi from 1986 until they split in 2006, having a son with him named Navarone in 1986.

In her recent Q&A, Priscilla also revealed why she and Elvis decided not to have any more children after the birth of their daughter Lisa Marie in 1968.

“Elvis felt he had a very busy schedule and he did have a bit of guilt that he wasn’t around that much when Lisa was younger,” she explained. “With his scheduling and his touring, he just felt he wasn’t around enough to give a lot of attention to having another child.”

Lisa Marie tragically died in January of this year at the age of 54 after suffering from a bowel obstruction that was caused by adhesions stemming from weight-loss surgery that she’d undergone years ago, according to The BBC.

Priscilla’s Fond Memories Of Elvis

Even 46 years after his death, Priscilla still looks back fondly at her time with Elvis, who she met when she was only 14 years-old back in 1959.

“He would walk into the room and it was like, ‘Whoa,’” she recalled. “I mean, he didn’t realize what he had as far as his appearance or what he felt or his charisma.”

“But there was a few times when he came around and he said, ‘Damn, I’m good looking,’ kiddingly, when he would be in his bathroom and he would be getting ready to go somewhere, but he had a great sense of humor,” she added.

Priscilla has also never forgotten Elvis’ caring nature, reminiscing to her Q&A audience about how he once bought a car for a complete stranger in need.

“That’s him, that’s what he would do,” she explained. “Anyone in trouble, he would give them money. Anyone who had a problem, with anything, really, and they couldn’t afford it, even with some of the guys who needed medical care, he would pay for it.”

Priscilla To Be Buried By Elvis

Page Six reported that this comes days after a judge signed off on official documents stating that after her death, Priscilla will be buried near Elvis and Lisa Marie in Graceland’s Meditation Garden in Memphis, Tennessee.

“That’s what I want and wanted,” Priscilla told the British media personality Piers Morgan afterwards of these burial plans.

“So you will be buried there?” Piers asked, to which Priscilla replied with an emphatic, “Yes.”
