President Biden tested positive for COVID-19, the White House announced Thursday.
A statement from press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed the diagnosis and pointed out that the President is “fully vaccinated and twice boosted and experiencing very mild symptoms.”
A letter by the Physician to the President, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, indicates those symptoms include a runny nose, fatigue, and an occasional dry cough.
Jean-Pierre explains that Biden will have to isolate himself at the White House and “will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time.”

Biden Tests Positive For COVID
Jean-Pierre said in her statement that the White House Medical Unit will inform all close contacts today as well as members of the media who interacted with the President during yesterday’s travel about his status.
Biden had made remarks about the climate crisis during an appearance at Brayton Point Power Station in Somerset, Massachusetts, Wednesday.
There, he made medical news of a different kind, forcing the media and White House aides to clarify that he does not have cancer after mistakenly suggesting he did.
“You had to put on your windshield wipers to get, literally, the oil slick off the window,” he said of the perils of living near oil refineries.
“That’s why I and so damn many other people I grew up [with] have cancer and why can- — for the longest time, Delaware had the highest cancer rate in the nation.”
The White House said he meant to reference previous isolated skin cancer procedures.
Not a joke, Covid is caused by oil slicks on windshields from the 1950s.

Thoughts and Prayers For Biden
Well-wishes came in from all corners of social media for President Biden after news that he had tested positive for COVID.
“Heidi [and] I are lifting up President Joe Biden in prayer right now,” Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) tweeted. “May God’s healing hand be upon him, may Covid pass quickly, and may he have a swift and full recovery.”

The words of encouragement weren’t always a kindness Donald Trump received when he tested positive for COVID.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the time said Trump’s positive test was “tragic” and “very sad” but added, “is something that again going into crowds unmasked… was a brazen invitation for something like this to happen.”
After his speech yesterday, a maskless Joe Biden met and shook hands with supporters in the audience.
