A new poll indicates that despite staggeringly low approval ratings, Vice President Kamala Harris leads the field of candidates in 2024 amongst Democrat voters if Joe Biden decides not to run.
Harris leads The Hill/HarrisX poll but is by no means an overwhelming favorite.
The results indicate she is tied – garnering support from 13% of respondents – with those who said they would back somebody not named among the selections for the poll.
Behind Harris is former First Lady Michelle Obama at 10%.
The remaining field with support numbers below 10% includes Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, businessman Andrew Yang, and occasional Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
Thirty-six percent said they were “unsure” who they would vote for if Biden doesn’t run. The President has indicated he will run for reelection in 2024.

Kamala Harris In 2024?
A poll from earlier this month indicates President Biden’s approval rating is low – but Kamala’s is historically low.
The USA Today/Suffolk University poll has a 28% approval rating with 51% disapproving of her performance since taking office, putting her 23 percentage points underwater.
Joe Biden’s approval rating is 38% and Kamala Harris’s approval rating is 28% according to a new USA Today poll. That’s the lowest combo approval ratings for a president and vice president in most of our lives. https://t.co/CGTgcEPosC

Those sinking numbers would have passengers on the Titanic thinking it’s a little ridiculous.
Her vice presidency has been a tragedy of errors and a comedy of incompetence.
Harris has been wandering around aimlessly as immigration czar for the administration, traveling to the wrong border, making movies with child actors, and being temporarily possessed by a fake French accent.
Hey @VP and @POTUS remember this ?? By the way with all your new travel bans why aren’t you banning illegal entry at the border? Why don’t you mandate COVID tests and vaccines at the border? It must be so hard to maintain your hypocrisy in the public eye… https://t.co/ept8ZpIbWH

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki would not say if President Biden would back a Harris presidential run in 2024 if she decided to enter the race.
It’s rather difficult to believe that Michelle Obama wouldn’t obliterate Kamala Harris if the two faced off in a 2024 Democrat primary based on her personal popularity alone.

Michelle Obama Will Remain Active In Politics Forever
Michelle Obama, who comes in second in this latest poll of candidates most approved by Democrats to run in 2024, has repeatedly said she has no interest in holding the highest office in the land.
In an interview with Amtrak Magazine’s ‘The National’ she was asked: “If you thought the country needed you and you thought you could really help our nation, is there even a one percent chance you’d consider running?”
“Just between us, and the readers of this magazine — there’s zero chance,” Mrs. Obama replied.

Not to mention, she has complained in the past that the hardest part of her entire tenure as First Lady was enduring the racism of her fellow Americans.
Speaking at the Women’s Foundation of Colorado’s 30th anniversary in July of 2017, Obama revealed that after “working really hard for this country,” there were still people “who won’t see me for what I am because of my skin color.”
Who would want to serve as leader of such a racist nation?
But that was then. Could she be persuaded to act if her party desperately needs her, as they so clearly do?
It’s not as if Obama doesn’t like basking in the limelight. She’s previously indicated she’d like to create an army of “forever first ladies,” and has, on multiple occasions, declared it would be a good idea for the country to “invest in creating thousands of ‘me’s.'”
“When it comes to the candidate, we have to wait and see who’s the victor. And then part of it is waiting to see, ‘Do they want our help? Do they want my help?’ I don’t assume … So I’ll wait to be asked.” @MichelleObama on the 2020 presidential candidates pic.twitter.com/TMGVghI7Dx

In an interview with the “Today” show in 2019, Obama said she and her husband Barack have one way in which they plan to be involved in politics “forever.”
“One of the biggest ways I think I can help is to make sure that people understand the importance of voting and the power of voting in a democracy,” she said. “That’s one way that we will be involved forever.”
Let’s hope that involvement doesn’t escalate to an actual run in 2024.
