Pelosi Jokes She Could Have Taken On Capitol Rioters With Her High Heels: “I’m A Street Fighter”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi joked in a new interview that had she encountered rioters at the Capitol on January 6th she would have given them a real brawl.

The 81-year-old Democrat made the comments in a discussion with USA Today.

The newspaper prompted Pelosi by suggesting the “mob” at the Capitol riots “wanted to kill her.”

“That’s what they were setting out to do,” she replied before adding: “Well, I’m pretty tough. I’m a street fighter. They would have had a battle on their hands.”

Pelosi then joked that she had a weapon at the ready.

“I would have had these,” she said, showing off 4-inch stilettos.

Pelosi Was Ready For A Street Fight With Rioters

While USA Today claimed that the mob “wanted to kill her,” they reported back in January that federal authorities admitted there is “no direct evidence of kill and capture teams” among those involved in the Capitol protests.

In original court documents in the days following the riot, authorities claimed: “The intent of the Capitol rioters was to capture and assassinate elected officials in the United States Government.”

But prosecutors asked the judge to strike the phrase referencing capture and assassination because they didn’t want a decision being made on whether to detain rioters on the assertion being true.

U.S. Attorney for D.C. Michael Sherwin said there was no “direct evidence” to back the claims, multiple reports alleged.

“Right now, we don’t have any direct evidence of kill/capture teams,” Sherwin told reporters.

Pelosi Was Ready To Fight, AOC Not So Much

Since the riot, the Capitol complex has been fortified with thousands of National Guard troops, surrounded by razor wire fencing, and locked down with manned checkpoints.

Still, you have to admire Pelosi’s feisty attitude in responding to the rioters, and no one can deny that, at least politically, Pelosi is often an effective pugilist against her Republican opponents.

Compare that to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who made the incident the most dramatic thing that’s ever happened in the history of forever.

The New York socialist accused Republican Ted Cruz of trying to have her “murdered.”

“If this was the journey that my life was taking, that I felt that things were going to be OK,” AOC said in retelling her story of hiding from those who had breached the Capitol. “I had fulfilled my purpose.”

According to AOC’s own account, she was in the Cannon House Office Building at the time of the events, later moving to the Longworth building at the request of police.

If only she had taken street fighting lessons from Chun-Li Pelosi.
