Omar Confident Pelosi Will Take ‘Decisive Action’ Against Boebert Over Terrorist Joke

Ilhan Omar claims Nancy Pelosi promised she will take "decisive action" against Lauren Boebert for a recent ill-advised terrorist joke.

Ilhan Omar says she is confident House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will take “decisive action” against Republican Representative Lauren Boebert for a recent ill-advised terrorist joke.

A video surfaced over Thanksgiving break in which the Colorado Republican joked that she and Omar had been on an elevator together when a Capitol police officer ran toward them “with fret all over his face.”

“I said, ‘Well, she doesn’t have a backpack. We should be fine,'” Boebert claimed.

Another video surfaced of the speech in which Boebert adds that Omar is “black-hearted” and “evil.”

Pelosi is Coming For Boebert

Boebert (R-CO) had been relentlessly calling out Omar prior to the videos coming to light.

She even delivered a fiery House speech in which she railed against the Minnesota Democrat as a member of the “Jihad Squad,” pointed out her history of funneling campaign funds to her husband, and taking her own swipe at unproven rumors regarding Omar’s brother.

The controversial videos prompted Omar to go on the attack, calling on Republican leadership to hold her accountable.

That means censure and stripping Boebert of committee assignments.

As The Political Insider has pointed out time and again, the first lesson in the course How to Deal With Democrats 101 is never – EVER – apologize.

Boebert failed the course, issuing an apology to the Muslim community through a public statement and even reaching out to Omar via phone.

Omar, to nobody’s surprise, reportedly insisted the apology wasn’t enough and hung up on Boebert.

Never Apologize

You would have thought Boebert was keen on the fact that Democrats do not accept apologies and just move on.

Her floor speech, after all, was in response to Republican Representative Paul Gosar (AZ) being censured by the House and removed from his committee assignments over a parody cartoon video.

Gosar had removed the ridiculous video as an attempt to appease those who were easily outraged and claimed it depicted him trying to murder Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

It didn’t work. It never works.

Omar told CNN’s Jake Tapper that punishment for Boebert is coming down the pike.

“I’ve had a conversation with the speaker,” she said. “I’m very confident that she will take decisive action next week.”

Omar suggested Democrats have to take action against Republicans in the House because Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy won’t waste time by addressing every idiotic comment the resistance party gets offended by.

“McCarthy is a liar and a coward,” she said. “He doesn’t have the ability to condemn the kind of bigoted Islamophobia and anti-Muslim rhetoric that are being trafficked by a member of his conference.”

Of course, she says this knowing full well that Pelosi herself has been a liar and a coward when it comes to addressing inflammatory rhetoric amongst Democrat ranks.

Omar, for example, has a rich history of anti-Semitic comments and even equated actions taken by the United States and Israel to “unthinkable atrocities” perpetrated by the Taliban and the terrorist group Hamas.

Pelosi has defended Omar for her controversial comments saying “she has a different experience in the use of words” and “doesn’t understand that some of them are fraught with meaning.”

Omar though isn’t dumb. She knows what her words mean. The difference is she knows full-well she’ll never be punished for them.

And nobody has weaponized manufactured sympathy more than she and her Squadmates.

Any criticism is branded as racist or Islamophobic. They immediately call press conferences and play death threat voicemails for the public, something every member of Congress has likely experienced during their time in office.

It cuts both ways. But only Republicans are held accountable.

McCarthy has suggested he might give “better” committee assignments to Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Gosar if Republicans win the House after the 2022 midterm elections.

The House stripped Greene (R-GA) in February from the Education and Labor Committee as well as the Budget Committee for ill-advised social media posts made prior to her election to office.

McCarthy warned he would emulate Pelosi’s approach by removing Democrats who have made controversial comments or taken dangerous actions in the past.

“This isn’t about threats, but it’s about holding people accountable,” McCarthy told reporters.
