Ocasio-Cortez Calls Four-Star Marine Corps General John Kelly a Coward

Referencing an incident involving John Kelly and Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL), socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attacked the outgoing White House Chief of Staff as a coward.

Kelly had a very public clash with Wilson when the congresswoman used the death of an American soldier to criticize President Trump, while later celebrating that the incident had made her “a rock star.”

Wilson listened in on a conversation between Trump and the wife of slain U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson, alleging that the President callously said her husband ‘knew what he signed up for.’

Kelly responded by blasting her for politicizing the call and claimed he was the one who suggested the President make that statement, an obvious reference to her husband’s bravery in the face of danger.

Kelly later called Wilson an “empty barrel” and suggested she inappropriately took credit for securing millions of dollars in funding for an FBI field office in Miami.

Rep. Barbara Lee shared a Washington Post article on Kelly which very briefly states, without evidence, that “Kelly falsely attacked Rep. Frederica S. Wilson.”

Ocasio-Cortez pounced and called the four-star Marine general and Gold Star father a coward.

Kelly is anything but a coward

Disagree with his handling of the incident all you want, but claiming a man who rose through the military ranks the way Kelly did is guilty of cowardice, is malarkey. Even for Ocasio-Cortez.

Kelly enlisted in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, eventually rising to four-star General. He has earned numerous awards, including the Navy Presidential Unit Citation, a Legion of Merit w/ Gold Star with Combat “V,” and Defense Superior Service Medal.

Meanwhile, the closest Ocasio-Cortez has come to seeing combat was having worked as an intern under Ted Kennedy, where women weren’t exactly viewed in a positive light. Especially if a bridge was involved.

Kelly’s son was killed in action

In the midst of the Wilson controversy, Kelly gave an incredibly emotional press conference in which he described exactly what happens after a U.S. service member dies in combat, including the protocol for calling family members.

He spoke directly from the heart, his own son was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2010 while serving as a Marine on his third combat tour.

Ocasio-Cortez owes this man an apology posthaste.
