In an interview with the New York Times, socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez complained that she didn’t belong with her fellow Democrats.
The column, which focused on AOC’s alleged adaptation to Washington politics, claims she initially came to Washington planning to promote “a platform for [her] divisive, outsider brand of politics,” but has since shifted to “a careful political calculus that adheres more closely to the unwritten rules of Washington she once disdained.”
Aside from the fact that the word ‘calculus’ is two syllables more than the words she’s used to handling, does the Times really think that someone calling illegal immigration holding centers ‘concentration camps’ and referring to everyone who opposes her politics as a Nazi is adhering to entrenched decorum?
AOC insists she’s a martyr of sorts for the cause.
“In many ways, I feel like I walk around with a scarlet letter because many members who just have any primary, whether I know about it or not, tend to project that onto me,” she asserted.

Ocasio-Cortez has a history of making incendiary comments and taking controversial actions when it comes to the respected House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

There was the time she insisted she was the real “boss” of the Democrat party.
Ocasio-Cortez declares “I’m the Boss… How ’bout that!” while claiming that no one else has tried to come up with climate change policy before the Green New Deal.

There was the time she complained about being worked too hard by Pelosi.
“I was assigned to two of some of the busiest committees and four subcommittees,” she whined. “So my hands are full. And sometimes I wonder if they’re trying to keep me busy.”
There was the time she insinuated Pelosi and anyone who opposes her is racist.
Responding to comments that the Speaker made about the Squad’s inability to accomplish anything legislatively, Ocasio-Cortez said “It was just outright disrespectful … The explicit singling out of newly elected women of color.”
Maybe acting like an unhinged perpetual victim is why your colleagues don’t think you belong there.
