Petulant Obama Whines That He Deserves Credit For Trump’s Economy

In a fiery speech delivered at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign Friday, former President Barack Obama whined that nobody is giving him credit for President Trump’s roaring economy.

The speech, given as Obama was set to receive an award for ethics in government, was full of lies, half-truths, and falsehoods.

One of the more prevalent examples involved his take on how influential his policies were in creating “this economic miracle.”

“When you hear how great the economy is doing right now, let’s just remember when this recovery started,” Obama stated.

“I’m glad it’s continued but when you hear about this economic miracle that’s been going on, when the job numbers come out, monthly job numbers, suddenly Republicans are saying ‘It’s a miracle,'” he said. “I have to remind them, actually, those job numbers are the same as they were in 2015 and 2016.”

No, Mr. Obama, blaming Bush for every bad economic policy you implemented didn’t work for eight years under your two terms and pretending you’re responsible for Trump’s economy isn’t going to work under his two terms either.

Just more of the same ol’, same ol’ from a man who truly believes he’s responsible for everything good in the country, and nothing that is bad.

Back in January, the former President also took credit for the economic upswing.

“Thanks, Obama,” he said, all but patting himself on the back.

Problem is, whining like a small child that people didn’t recognize your accomplishments isn’t just petulant, taking credit for it is a flat-out lie.

The Wall Street Journal, also in January, surveyed 68 economists and asked them who deserves credit for the current uptick in the economy.

Guess who they praised?

Most “suggested Mr. Trump’s election deserves at least some credit,” while the Hill reported that “economists suggest it is President Trump, and not Obama, who should be taking a bow.”

Three of the driving forces behind the roaring economy are decreased regulations, the GOP tax cuts, and business confidence which has surged under President Trump.

A jobs report on Friday showed the economy again beat expectations in August by adding an impressive 201,000 jobs.

Remember, when Obama says that these numbers are the same as those in 2015 and 2016, he’s wrong. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Trump has created an average of 82,000 more jobs per month than Obama did.

It’s gotten to the point where even the New York Times admitted they had run out of words to describe how good the economy has been under this President.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders previously slammed Obama for suggesting he had any effect on today’s economy.

“It had nothing to do with President Obama, and I think everybody knows it, including President Obama,” she said. “And I think it’s pretty laughable that he’s trying to take credit for it.”

It’d be laughable if it wasn’t so sad.
