New Jersey Democratic Governor Phil Murphy shocked everyone on Thursday when he said he was open to having his state pay illegal aliens $600 a week despite the fact that New Jersey is running out of money.
During his coronavirus press briefing on Thursday, Governor Murphy was asked about giving money to illegal immigrants. Immigrants rights group Make the Road NJ had just released a report titled, “Essential and Excluded,” which detailed the “experiences of low-wage immigrant workers and families in New Jersey during the first month of the COVID-19 crisis.”
The report included a survey conducted earlier this month, entailing 226 “respondents residing in New Jersey,” 96.4% of whom said their ethnicity was “Latinx.” Just over half of the respondents, 52%, said their immigration status was “estimated undocumented.”
One reporter brought this report to Murphy’s attention, asking the governor if he would consider issuing $600 a week to illegal aliens “who have lost wages” during the coronavirus pandemic, according to The Blaze. Murphy responded by saying that while he has not seen the report, he is “open-minded to the $600-a-week” payment to illegal aliens. He said he would consider this despite the fact that he also admitted that the state is “quite clearly running out of money.”
“It’s not just because I think we’re good guys and gals, but because we’re not going to break the back of this virus unless we bring us all along,” Murphy said. Check out Murphy’s comments at around the 1:05 mark in the video below:
This comes weeks after California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom announced plans to hand out millions of dollars to illegal aliens as a COVID-19 relief package.
“California is the most diverse state in the nation. Our diversity makes us stronger and more resilient,” Newsom said as he revealed the package that would give illegal immigrants in California a one-time payout of $500 per adult, with a household cap of $1,000.
Earlier in the month, 50 House Democrats co-sponsored legislation that would give illegal immigrants funds from the coronavirus relief package. “I was appalled to learn hardworking, taxpaying immigrants were left out of the $2 trillion CARES Act,” said Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA).
This shows once again that modern Democrats care more about illegal aliens than they do about real Americans. It’s truly impossible to call yourself a patriot and a Democrat these days, as these words can no longer be synonymous for one another. Democrats are showing every day that they have no respect for this country or its citizens, which is why it’s crucial that we ensure that they don’t take back the White House come November.
