Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich spoke out on Monday to issue a chilling warning to Georgia Republicans, saying that they need to “turn out more votes than Stacey Abrams can steal” in the state’s Senate runoff elections.
Gingrich Issues Chilling Georgia Warning
“They need to vote because the key to a Republican victory is to have more votes than the left can steal,” Gingrich told “Fox & Friends.”
The two Senate runoffs in Georgia that are scheduled to take place on January 5 will determine which party has control of the Senate going into 2021. Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are facing challenges from Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, respectively.

Gingrich Doubles Down
When asked what he meant by saying that Democrats would “steal” votes, Gingrich explained that there were 1.2 million unverified absentee ballots in the 2020 election and in 2018, 3.5 percent of absentee ballots were thrown out.
“This year [it] was [0.3 percent]. The difference is three times Biden’s margin, and nobody can explain it,’ he said. “The agreement the Secretary of State [Brad Raffensperger] made with Stacey Abrams was crazy. They have their back now once again with these boxes where you can drop off ballots, which are an invitation to going out and gathering votes, which is illegal under Georgia law.”
“Republicans have learned they are spending an enormous amount of energy monitoring every one of these drop boxes,” Gingrich continued, going on to add that in his decades-long political career in Georgia, he has never seen an election so “blatantly in favor of being stolen and unorganized.”

Georgia Officials Launch Investigation
Officials in Georgia have launched investigations into several groups, including one founded by Abrams, for illicit activity involving voter registration. Abrams has been working overtime on Democratic voter turnout operations in Georgia ever since she lost her 2018 bid for governor of the state.
Meanwhile, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) just refused a request made by President Donald Trump to order a special session of the legislature to overturn Joe Biden’s alleged victory in the state.
Though four Republican state senators have since launched a written petition in the hopes of gathering enough signatures to force a special session, it is unlikely that they will reach the number of supporters that they will need to actually make this happen.
