New Kavanaugh Accuser Was Represented by Christine Ford’s Lawyer

Julie Swetnick, the third Brett Kavanaugh accuser to come forward, did so in the least credible way. Rather than find an attorney to represent her who specializes in sexual harassment claims, Swetnick went to “Creepy Porn Lawyer” Michael Avenatti. Who wants the man that’s been parading Stormy Daniels around the media for the past few months representing them, if their goal isn’t anything other than political?

In an email Avenatti sent to Mike Davis, the chief counsel for nominations for the Senate Judiciary Committee, he accused Kavanaugh of targeting “women with alcohol/drugs in order to allow a ‘train’ of men to subsequently gang rape them.” Swetnick claimed that she “attended well over ten house parties in the Washington, D.C. area during the years 1981-1983 where Mark Judge and Brett Kavanaugh were present,” and that she “also witnessed efforts by Mark Judge, Brett Kavanaugh, and others to cause girls to become inebriated and disoriented so they could then be ‘gang-raped’ in a side room or bedroom by numerous boys” – exactly the language that Avenatti used in his previous email to Davis.

Swetnick is three years older than Kavanaugh, which would mean that as a college student she had to have regularly attended high school parties where she knew rape gangs loomed (but no one ever said anything about until this week). Swetnick also waited until after Kavanaugh released old calendars of his from the 1980s to put a timeframe to her events.

Even more surprising (although is anything really surprising anymore?) is that Swetnick has a connection to Debra Katz, the lawyer now representing Christine Blasey Ford. Swetnick was represented by Katz herself in a prior insurance claim.

And what could she have to gain from accusing Kavanaugh? In addition to the media attention, perhaps a book deal and some money. Given the financial situation, she’s in, that would be a viable motive. As the Daily Mail noted, she “allegedly failed to pay over $100,000 in taxes and fees in Maryland and to the Internal Revenue Service since 2015. The state of Maryland filed a $62,000 tax lien against her home in Washington, D.C. in October 2015, claiming she owed $32,000 in back taxes dating to 2008, and the additional amount in interest. Swetnick also allegedly owed $40,303 to the IRS stemming from unpaid 2014 taxes, resulting in a federal tax lien on her home in October 2017.”

And did I mention she has a restraining order filed against her from an ex-boyfriend?

Christine Ford simply opened up the floodgates, and now we’re being drowned in bogus sexual misconduct allegations. Not long after Swetnick came forward, another man claimed that a close acquaintance “was sexually assaulted by two heavily inebriated men she referred to at the time as Brett and Mark” in August 1985 on a 36-foot boat in Newport, Rhode Island. That accusation was retracted about as quickly as it was levied, but the media still ran with the anonymous allegation.

Even if the FBI investigated every allegation against Kavanaugh, it wouldn’t be enough. The goal is simply to delay the confirmation of Kavanaugh as long as possible. Hopefully, Republicans show some backbone and don’t let that happen tomorrow.
