On Tuesday, MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle scoffed at the White House’s repeated claim that the Democrats’ massive $3.5 trillion spending bill won’t come at any cost.
Ruhle made her comments while discussing an interview she had conducted with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen with her co-host, where she questioned the math of the Biden administration.

Ruhle: ‘That’s A Mathematics That I Am Not Yet Familiar With’
Ruhle said of Yellen, “She did say, she does believe this thing is fully paid for, right, she’s not supposed to sell policy.”
“She’s the one who knows the math and she argues, yes it’s raising taxes, but that tax gap, right, they want to fund the IRS, you don’t have to change any of the tax laws, you just have to enforce them,” Ruhle added.
Ruhle then excitedly said, “She argues that over the next ten years there’s ten trillion dollars that can be collected!”
Her co-host laughed, “Yeah and that’s why the White House says, this infrastructure bill, the sum total of it, they say it’s zero, they argue it’s all paid for. I see you shaking your head.”
Ruhle responded, “Th—that’s a mathematics that I am not yet familiar with, but um, we’ll see.”
“They have a very ambitious plan,” Ruhle said.

Republicans Have Blasted Democrats’ Spending Plan
Republicans have criticized Democrats who claim the up $3.5 trillion in spending party leaders have proposed will simply work out to ‘zero’ cost.
The Democrats have been playing a semantics game, claiming that because the bill is “paid for,” it has “zero” cost.
Even if it were true that all the spending is “paid for,” that’s doesn’t mean it “costs nothing.” If you empty your savings account to buy a new roof, it doesn’t mean the roof had “zero cost.”
GOP leaders claim it sounds outlandish precisely because it is outlandish.
Sometimes you just have to laugh – at this party and the Biden administration.
Apparently even some MSNBC hosts find it comical too.
