President Joe Biden was humiliated this week by a new poll that shows that nearly half of Democrats want to boot him from their party’s 2024 ticket, with the leading choice to replace him being the former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Poll Spells Bad News For Biden

A new Rasmussen Reports survey released earlier this week shows that 48% of the Democratic voters polled said that they approve of the party “finding another candidate to replace Joe Biden before the election in November,” while 38% disapproved. However, 33% of Democrats predicted that such a ballot shakeup is unlikely to happen.

As for who would replace Biden, Obama came out on top with 20% support, earning the number one spot over a list of other potential candidates that included Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. “None of the above” and “not sure” were also options listed in the poll.

Harris came in second to Obama with 15% saying they’d choose her, and Clinton came in third with 12% of support. Newsom, who some have claimed is running a “shadow campaign” for the presidency in case Biden decides to drop out, came in fourth with 11% of Democrats polled picking him, while Whitmer came in fifth with just 9% support.

Obama ‘Terrified’ About 2024 Election

This comes after Obama spoke out back in January to open up about her fears about this year’s presidential election.

“What’s going to happen in this next election? I’m terrified about what could possibly happen, because our leaders matter,” Obama said, according to CNN. “Who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit, it affects us in ways sometimes I think people take for granted.”

“The fact that people think that government — ‘eh, does it really even do anything?’ — and I’m like ‘Oh my God, does government do everything for us, and we cannot take this democracy for granted,'” she continued. “And I worry sometimes that we do. Those are the things that keep me up.”

Though she never mentioned Donald Trump by name, she eluded to the indictments against him while unsurprisingly trying to bring race into it as much as she could.

“The bars are different for people in life. That I’ve learned,” she said. “Other people can be indicted a bunch of times and still run for office. Black men can’t. You just learn to be good. And in the end, you benefit from that extra resilience.”

Ted Cruz’s Warning About Obama

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) warned in September of last year that Obama might run for president in Biden’s place.

“Here’s the scenario that I think is perhaps most likely, and most dangerous,” Cruz said at the time, according to The Hill. “In August of 2024, the Democrat kingmakers jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama.”

“Michelle Obama, because she was first lady, has the ability to kind of parachute in above all four and say, ‘Hey we’re not picking among any of you. You guys can all fight it out next time,’” he added. “I think in terms of a solution that unifies Democrats. There ain’t nothing like that.”

Michelle Claims She Doesn’t Want To Run For Office

Liberals have been trying to get Obama to run for president for years, but she has repeatedly claimed that she has no interest in ever running for any kind of office.

“I’ve never expressed any interest in politics. Ever,” she said in April of last year, according to Rolling Stone. “I mean, I agreed to support my husband. He wanted to do it, and he was great at it. But at no point have I ever said, ‘I think I want to run.’ Ever. So, I’m just wondering: Does what I want have anything to do with anything? Does who I choose to be have anything to do with it?”

“Politics is hard,” she continued. “And the people who get into it — it’s just like marriage, it’s just like kids — you’ve got to want it. It’s got to be in your soul, because it is so important. It is not in my soul. Service is in my soul. Helping people is in my soul. Working with kids? I will spend my lifetime trying to make kids feel seen and find their light. That I will do. I don’t have to hold office to do that.”

“In fact, I think I’m actually more effective outside of politics, because sadly, politics has become so divided,” Obama concluded. “The minute you declare a party, you’ve alienated the other half of the country. Now, maybe some people who don’t agree with me politically can still gain some tools that can help them. Maybe I can help a kid who’s a Republican, because maybe they’ll listen to me.”

Obama is so insanely and bafflingly popular that she would likely trounce any Republican candidate if she were run for president. With Biden more unpopular than ever, it certainly would not be surprising if Democrats end up trying to slip Obama into the race at the last minute.
