Megyn Kelly shredded “The View” co-host Ana Navarro for her bizarre defense of President Joe Biden continuing to stand by his embattled son Hunter.

Navarro’s Emotional Defense Of Biden

On Monday’s episode of “The View,” Navarro was quick to defend President Biden after he allowed Hunter to come to a White House state dinner over the weekend days after the First Son took a sweetheart deal with his father’s Justice Department that saw him plead guilty to charges of illegally purchasing a handgun and evading taxes in exchange for likely no jail time.

“The Hunter Biden story, the scandal, the this, the that, it’s also a story of a father’s love, and Joe Biden has never and will never give up on his son Hunter and will never treat him lesser than,” a visibly emotional Navarro said. “He is a father first. Take it or leave it. That’s who he is. That is part of his heart.”

“He is a father first; take it or leave it. That’s who he is, that is part of his heart,” she added, according to Daily Mail. “There was 380 people at this dinner. It’s not like Hunter was sitting at Merrick Garland’s lap. It was a bunch of people…and I think that the reason he’s been able to get out of addiction is because Joe Biden embraced him entirely the entire time.”

Kelly Fires Back

Kelly, however, was not having any of it, calling Navarro’s comments “embarrassing.”

“‘That just shows his love for his son,’” Kelly said, mocking Navarro. “You can love your child and still recognize it would be inappropriate given the circumstances to bring him to something that is not your private party.”

Kelly also took aim at President Biden himself.

“It’s not your private party, Joe Biden,” Kelly continued. “It’s our party. It’s the United States. It’s America. And Hunter Biden should not have been there.”

Not stopping there, Kelly also called out media figures Nicholas Kristof of The New York Times and former Missouri senator Claire McCaskill of MSNBC for trying to blame Hunter’s legal problems on his struggles with addiction.

“That’s not an excuse!” she exclaimed. “That doesn’t excuse criminality in any lane.”

Josh Holmes of the podcast “Ruthless,” who was Kelly’s guest on her podcast, agreed with her.

“This isn’t about hypocrisy… It’s hierarchy,” he said. “They’re laughing in our faces. This is a guy who’s being accused of influence peddling in foreign countries and taking money from China, taking money from this corrupt Ukrainian gas company, and all this sort of stuff. And he’s showing up at official events with foreign dignitaries in front of us. They’re laughing at us.”

Social media users were quick to agree with Kelly in the comments section of her video.

“A Father who loves their children will hold them accountable for their actions, good or bad. In this case the Father appears to be worse than the son, so no accountability on either account,” one user commented, with another adding, “Father’s love doesn’t excuse criminal behavior, nor does drug addiction.”

“Calling Anna Navarro a Conservative is like calling Archie Bunker a liberal,” a third user wrote, calling out the fact that Navarro claims to be a conservative despite rarely (if ever) expressing rightwing views.

White House Stands By Hunter

Despite the bad optics of Hunter attending this dinner, the White House has stood by the decision to have him attend.

“That’s his son. He’s a family member,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said when asked if it’s common for someone to be invited to the White House so soon after accepting a plea deal. “It is not uncommon for family members to attend events at the White House.”

“We could look at past presidents. I’m sure you have,” she added. “So that is not uncommon … as it relates to anything related to Hunter I’m just not going to respond to it from here.”

The White House and Ana Navarro can defend the President and his son all they want to, but it won’t change the fact that millions of Americans believe that Hunter was given a massive sweetheart deal. Faith in the Biden family is dwindling, and the president may just pay the ultimate price for it next year.
