Meghan McCain believes if President Trump’s ideas about immigration or anything else are coming from Fox News hosts like Laura Ingraham and Lou Dobbs, why not make them part of his administration?
That’s how “The View” began on Monday, during a panel on the dismissal of Kirstjen Nielsen as the head of the Department of Homeland Security. The panelists wondered if Trump was keeping his immigration promises while campaigning and if Nielsen “sold her soul” by advancing the president’s policy of separating migrant families.
McCain noted that Dobbs said two weeks ago that Trump should fire Nielsen. McCain didn’t understand why Trump didn’t just pull the trigger and add Dobbs to his cabinet.
“If people like Lou Dobbs and Laura Ingraham are dictating policy and who has a job in the White House and who doesn’t, why don’t you make Lou Dobbs the person in charge of this since this is the person it seems you’re listening to?” McCain said.

Things became tense with McCain and her co-host Joy Behar, so Whoopi Goldberg had to play peacemaker.
“Throughout his presidency, Trump’s parroting of Fox’s programming has been covered exhaustively,” Mediaite reported Monday. “The relationship between Fox News and the Trump presidency is underlined by the fact that numerous figures from the network went on to work in the administration.”
What Meghan McCain is Getting Wrong
While it is likely true that President Trump watches Fox News to get information and bases decisions on that information, how is that much different from how the women on The View get their news?
Does Joy Behar watch MSNBC, CNN and watch Samantha Bee? What does Whoopi watch? How about McCain herself?
Most Americans have favorite news sources based on their own political leanings, and it should be no surprise that President Trump might do the same.
If any of these women still think putting Laura Ingraham or Lou Dobbs in the Trump administration is worth recommending, how about we put Rachel Maddow in Behar’s seat on The View? Cut out the middle man?
