Lawrence O’Donnell, MSNBC’s self-described socialist who “lives to the extreme of you mere liberals” and wants to “ban all guns,” must’ve ticked off those working on his set just as much as his commentary has ticked off conservatives. He was just caught on camera having an embarrassing breakdown over some technical difficulties on his set.
The liberal host has had public freakouts dating back to at least 2004. In one famous case, he blew up on Swift Boat Veterans for Truth leader John O’Neill.
After that embarrassing incident, the man was off the air for a few months. When he was given his own show in 2010, a producer at MSNBC was quoted at saying “It’s only a matter of time until he totally implodes on air. It should be spectacular.”
He hasn’t had any on-air tirades that have gotten him fired since then, but his tirades off the air are another story. An eight minute clip showing O’Donnell exploding due to an earpiece malfunction while the cameras were rolling was leaked to the public. The incident occurred on August 29th. While some may claim that the video posted below is an isolated incident, it truly isn’t abnormal behavior for O’Donnell. Plus, since one of the lefties over at MSNBC saw that it was worth leaking to the press, knowing how embarrassing the footage would be for O’Donnell, they must’ve suffered abuse on a regular basis.
“What’s going on, why am I losing this, why don’t I have sound,” he says, with his voice becoming audibly agitated. “Who’s asking for a Labor Day rundown in my ear?” he asks before muttering, “God da–it.”
He then begins to visibly shake with anger, but manages to hold his tongue, and continues reading from the prompter. “You have insanity in my earpiece,” O’Donnell seethes.

Obviously embarrassed by the incident, O’Donnell posted the following apology on Twitter

He’s never bothered to offer up an apology to the guests he’s mistreated, mind you.
Some couldn’t help but notice that O’Donnell’s off-air meltdown was remarkably similar to a famous explosion that a young Bill O’Reilly had many years ago when he worked for Inside Edition. The exact year of the clip isn’t known, but he held the job from 1989-1995. The Washington Free Beacon took the famous O’Reilly explosion (which wasn’t leaked until 2008), and merged it with Lawrence’s, and got this hilarious result (again, STRONG LANGUAGE WARNING):
Bill O’Reilly did address the leaked footage on The Factor lightheartedly. “There’s footage on the internet of me in a state of displeasure, I understand. Apparently the tape is 20 years old, but I your humble correspondent have much newer stuff because under contractual obligation I have to create a few dramas every year for the amusement of my co-workers.”
