Kayleigh McEnany Shreds Jim Acosta After He Criticizes Police – ‘Maybe You Should Respect People Who Defend You Every Day’

Acosta McEnany

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany suggested CNN’s Jim Acosta should respect police officers rather than concoct stories about them since they are “protecting you as you come into this building each and every day.”

The tense exchange began with Acosta falsely accusing the President of having “gassed and pummeled protesters” as he engaged in a walk Monday to St. John’s Episcopal Church.

The church had been vandalized and partially set ablaze during riots over the death of George Floyd.

“If the White House, the president and his team had to do it all over again, would you have gassed and pummeled protesters to clear the park so the president could have a photo-op?” the attention-seeking reporter asked.

McEnany immediately fired back, noting that reports of tear gas being used were false.

Acosta’s Lies

As we reported earlier in the week, Park Police stated that the “protesters” were, in fact, rioting, throwing objects at officers and overrunning structures.

They also stated that they had used smoke canisters, not tear gas, to clear the area.

Acosta tried to weasel his way out of it by instead calling it a “chemical agent.”

McEnany responded with a more thorough takedown.

“No one was tear-gassed. That’s been confirmed by DOD and Park Services as well. So let me go back and address what happened. There’s been a lot of misreporting,” she conveyed.

“The protesters were told three times over loudspeaker that they needed to move,” continued McEnany. “There were projectiles being thrown at officers, frozen water bottles were being thrown at officers, various other projectiles.”

“The officers had no other choice in that moment [but] to act, and make sure that they were safe … It’s absolutely uncalled-for to throw bricks, absolutely uncalled-for to throw water bottles that are frozen at police officers,” she added.

Acosta refused to let go of his anti-police stance, reiterating that the officers “pummelled their fellow Americans,” running cover for the rioters by suggesting they might not have heard the warnings to leave, and said that most people find these police actions “appalling.”

A clearly fed-up McEnany proceeded to obliterate Jim.

“Let’s go through some of the things that happened when officers don’t defend and protect themselves,” the Press Secretary explained. “In St. Louis, four police officers were shot. In Las Vegas, an officer was shot in the head and is on life support. In New York, a cop was beat up by people. In Providence, four to five police officers and state troopers were injured. In Asbury Park, New Jersey, a police officer was injured.”

McEnany continued by finishing off Acosta with a personal shot.

“Police officers are out on the front lines,” she said. “They’re defending and protecting you as you come into this building each and every day, Jim. We owe them honor, we owe them respect. When they’re under attack, they have the ability to defend themselves.”

Acosta has been brutally beaten by McEnany on multiple occasions as he does his best to preen for his left-leaning audience at CNN. Things never work out in his favor.

In a battle of wits, he’s going to lose to her every time.
