Joy Behar Apologizes After Misgendering Caitlyn Jenner Multiple Times

Things got messy on Friday’s episode of the ABC talk show “The View” after Joy Behar repeatedly misgendered Caitlyn Jenner. She did this while talking about the fact that Jenner has announced that she will be running for governor of the state of California.

Behar Talks Jenner

“Sunny, he’s got this guy Brad Parscale running his campaign,” Behar said of Jenner, according to People Magazine. “What do you think about that? I mean, that guy was accused of using campaign funds to enrich himself. That’s who is running his campaign, or her campaign, rather.”

“Listen, you know, I think we’ve had enough of reality stars running, you know, for positions running our government, it didn’t really work out so well for the past four years,” Hostin responded. “The fact that Caitlyn Jenner was supportive of our disgraced twice impeached one-term president until her community was attacked and not supported by that president is very telling.”

“I don’t take it that seriously,” conservative cohost Meghan McCain chimed in to say. “Maybe I should. I don’t think she’s going to win, and I’m not saying that to be rude or negative. I agree with Sunny. I don’t think this is the type of thing that should have on-the-job training. California is a mess.”

“Right, I would go along with that. I think that he should — she, rather, should take a seat and let somebody with the credentials take over a major state like California,” Behar added.

Behar Apologizes

In the next segment, Behar issued an apology for what she had done.

“So first of all, let me apologize for my pronoun mix-up,” she said. “I think I just didn’t get enough sleep last night. I had no intention of mixing them up, and I tried to correct it immediately, but, whatever it just came out, so I’m sorry if anybody was upset by that.”

Jenner announced on Friday morning that she is running for governor of California.

“As Californians, we face a now-or-never opportunity to fundamentally fix our state before it’s too late. Taking on entrenched Sacramento politicians and the special interests that fund them requires a fighter who isn’t afraid to do what is right,” Jenner said, according to Fox News. “I am a proven winner and the only outsider who can put an end to Gavin Newsom’s disastrous time as governor.”

“Californians want better and deserve better from their governor,” Jenner continued. “For too long, career politicians have over-promised and under-delivered. We need a leader with a vision and the resolve to see it through. This will be a campaign of solutions, providing a roadmap back to prosperity to turn this state around and finally clean up the damage Newsom has done to this state.”
