Joe Biden Really Just Claimed Half The American Population Has Been Killed By Gun Violence

Biden

Mere hours after telling gun manufacturers in South Carolina that “I am coming for you,” Democrat Joe Biden made the wildly inaccurate claim that 150 million Americans have died due to gun violence.

Biden, who is prone to gaffes and makes anti-second amendment statements that make David Hogg look intelligent, made the assertion during Tuesday night’s debate on CBS News.

He was attacking Bernie Sanders for voting to give gun manufacturers “absolute immunity.”

“150 million people have been killed since 2007 when Bernie voted to exempt the gun manufacturers from liability,” the former vice president said with little pushback from debate moderators or his colleagues on the stage.

“More than all the wars, including Vietnam, from that point on, carnage on our streets,” he panicked.

There are roughly 327 million people living in the United States.

He’s Coming For The Guns

In 2017, there were 14,542 gun-related homicides in the United States according to the Centers for Disease Control, the highest total in nearly forty years.

That number dipped the following year to 13,958.

But let’s, for the sake of argument, use that highest total from 2017 for every year since 2007 as Biden referenced. Taking the highest number and multiplying it by the number of years gives you a total of 189,046.

And while every life lost is a terrible thing, Biden’s estimate of 150 million means he was off by … over 149.8 million.

Biden used a statistic in which he erred in measurement by 99.8 percent, to then say he was going after the gun manufacturers.

“And I want to tell you if I’m elected, NRA I’m coming for you and gun manufacturers I’m going to take you on and I’m going to beat you,” the man seeking the White House boasted.

Anti-Gun Extremist

Biden made a similar comment about gunning for the manufacturers at a rally in South Carolina on Monday, declaring that “I’m coming for you, and I’m taking you down.”

At a town hall event last week he called for banning semi-automatic firearms and “clips that have multiple bullets in them” which would effectively eliminate all guns.

This is a far cry from the guy who once told people that the best way to defend themselves is to blindly fire a shotgun through their front door.
