First Lady Jill Biden has come under fire for comments she made during a speech to a Hispanic group in San Antonio, Texas on Monday.
But she is getting some support from what might be considered an unlikely source, Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld.
Biden spoke at conference hosted by UnidosUS, a Latino civil rights and advocacy group. While discussing the diversity of the Hispanic community, Biden mispronounced the word “bodega,” and compared Hispanics to “breakfast tacos.”
Many on the right, including The Political Insider, took her to task for her comments – Gutfeld says not so fast.

Analyzing Jill Biden’s Comments
As the round table discussion of Biden’s remarks began on Tuesday’s airing of “The Five,” co-host Dana Perino lead off with some cold hard reality about how the comments of conservatives and Republicans are treated by the mainstream media, with those of liberal Democrats.
“Conservatives, reread everything that they’re going to say, or tweet, or in a speech that they’re going to give because they know that the chances of them being canceled are about 110%. Even if they don’t mean it, even if it was just a misstatement or even if it’s a clumsy attempt at a joke.”
It was here where Gutfeld stated that he did not believe that Biden should have apologized for the comments, and defended the First Lady. After making fun of her comments, of course.
“Part of me says that turnabout is fair play. The big thing is, playing to diversity is embarrassing no matter who does it, and it’s worse when you have to apologize afterwards. Trump didn’t apologize after that taco salad, as funny as that was, him standing there over the salad. She has apologized.
I think it is terrible to compare people to food or even to Mexican food, especially Dr. Biden, you know she’s got a medical degree, she’s got status, she’s got prestige, I mean she’s got the whole enchilada. And you know if you look at her she’s still quite attractive, I bet in her day she was one hot tamale. Unlike her husband, who’s falling apart like a burrito you eat while driving.
I guess what I’m saying is she shouldn’t apologize. She didn’t do anything wrong. When anybody ever says anything out of their best intentions, just leave them alone. But I do get it. I do understand that the desire to do it.”
Co-host Jesse Watters put a bit of clarification on Gutfled’s comments, “I think it is OK what she said, it’s just a matter of how she said it. You don’t go to a Columbus Day event and say, you know, ‘You guys are like a bunch of meatballs.’”

Crushing The Competition
As with most network shows, Fox News ratings far and away beat out the competition. Late night comedy shows are no exception. Greg Gutfeld continually beats out “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show.”
If he could see his way clear to take a break from bashing Republicans and more specifically former President Donald Trump, far-left host Stephen Colbert and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” might notice that on occasion, Gutfeld is beating them as well.
In the coveted ages 25-54 demographic, Gutfeld also comes out ahead, not only with ABC and NBC, but also with “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central and “Full Frontal” with Samantha Bee on TBS.
Gutfeld viewers also come in with the highest median income of late night comedy viewers as well.

Gutfeld – King Of Late Night
While it is understandable that Hispanics might be offended at Jill Biden’s comments, Greg Gutfeld, as he has done before, went rogue with his opinion that he did not think that she had done anything wrong. It is that boldness that has catapulted Gutfeld to the top of the late night heap.
The comedians/hosts of today’s network late night TV are unabashedly liberal. You will get no other viewpoint. Fox News and Greg Gutfeld turn that narrative on its head.
When Johnny Carson came into American homes every night, no one was off limits. Johnny made fun of everyone, but he was careful not to steer into serious topics. Carson made his feelings well known in a long-ago interview with Mike Wallace.
“Tell me the last time that Jack Benny, Red Skelton…any comedian…used his show to do serious issues? That’s not what I’m there for. Can’t they see that? Why do they think that just because you have a Tonight Show you must deal in serious issues. That’s a danger. It’s a real danger.”
But Greg Gutfeld has taken those serious issues that Johnny Carson stayed far away from, and not necessarily made fun of the issues themselves, but gets some serious comedic mileage out of the people, usually the elected inhabitants of Washington D.C., involved in them. That mileage also comes at the expense of his fellow late-night hosts.
As Americans grow tired of dealing with the results of the Biden administration and late night network hosts propping them up, Greg Gutfeld’s owning of late-night comedy at the expense of the left should only get better.
