Jen Psaki In Prime Time? Biden Spokeswoman In Talks With CNN And MSNBC

Jen Psaki Might Be Ready For Prime Time, In Talks With Left Wing Cable News Outlets

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki may already be preparing for her next occupation, albeit with a slightly smaller audience.

News insider Dylan Byers reports that rumors are swirling of Psaki negotiating with cable media outlets CNN and MSNBC to be brought on as a show host.

It is rumored that Psaki will be leaving her post as Press Secretary sometime this year.

High Level Meetings

The New York Post reports that Psaki has shown interest in hosting a cable news show. She even has a talent agent, so-called “super agent” Jay Sures, who has represented figures such as Chuck Todd, Jake Tapper, Don Lemon, and Glenn Beck.

The Post zeroed in on the possibility that Psaki could replace MSNBC’s former top host, Russiagate enthusiast Rachel Maddow.

Maddow reportedly worked out a deal with NBC that allows her to work on other projects.

Ratings Not Kind To Left Wing Cable News

Left-leaning news networks like CNN and MSNBC have not done well since the end of Donald Trump’s presidency, and have been soundly beaten by the Fox News Channel in overall viewership every week for 27 weeks.

It was also reported by Mediaite that last weekend, “CNN had its least-watched, non-holiday week during weekday prime time since 2014.”

CNN has been rocked by recent sexual misconduct scandals involving prime time host Chris Cuomo, who was fired from his prime time slot, and most recently by CNN head Jeff Zucker, who resigned when a secret relationship with a subordinate was revealed.

Dylan Byers explains that the answer to CNN’s and MSNBC’s woes just might be Jen Psaki. In a snarky and not so subtle swipe at Trump press secretaries, Byers stated,

“Psaki has achieved veritable celebrity status for her daily press briefings, which have restored sanity and professionalism to the office and earned her the adoration of the mainstream media, as well as a fervent following online.”

Political Veteran

Jen Psaki is no stranger to the political scene, more specifically Democrat politics. She has worked on the campaigns of two Iowa Democrats, former Gov. Tom Vilsak and Sen. Tom Harken.

She has also served as deputy press secretary for John Kerry’s presidential campaign, and in the Obama administration.

The most widely talked about possibility is that should Maddow decide to leave in the spring, Psaki may very well be the realistic replacement

At least for now it seems, Jen Psaki will enjoy her daily sparring sessions with Fox News Channel’s Peter Doocy.
