Last week, we reported that the left was trying to cancel the conservative country music star Jason Aldean for his new hit anti-woke anthem “Try That In A Small Town.” During a concert on Friday night, Aldean fired back at these hateful liberals in a big way.

Aldean Fights Back Against Haters

Daily Mail reported that Aldean, who has long been one of the few outspoken supporters of Donald Trump in the entertainment world, released a music video for “Try That In A Small Town” last week that featured clips of the violent chaos that has been caused across America by Black Lives Matter protests in recent years.

Liberals immediately lost their mind over the music video, and CMT responded by pulling it from its rotation on the network.

During his concert in Cincinnati, Ohio on Friday night, Aldean took some time to address the hate that he and his new song have been hit with as of late.

“I’ve seen a lot of stuff suggesting I am this, suggesting I am that,” began Aldean, 46. “Here’s the thing, I feel like everybody is entitled to their opinion you can think something all you want to, it doesn’t mean it is true.”

“What I am, is a proud American. I love our country, I want to see it restored to what it once was before all this bulls**t started happening to us,” he continued. “I love my country, I love my family and I will do anything I can to protect that.”

This speech prompted the crowd to go wild, with chants of “USA! USA!” erupting as Aldean raised his hand in the air triumphantly.

‘Try That In A Small Town’

Despite the left’s attempts to cancel “Try That In A Small Town,” the song has quickly resonated with millions of fans, as its lyrics are about American small towns not putting up with riots and lawlessness that many cities across the country were hit with in the summer of 2020, according to Fox News.

Lyrics to the song include:

“Got a gun that my granddad gave me, They say one day they’re gonna round up, Well, that s–t might fly in the city, good luck, Try that in a small town, See how far ya make it down the road, You cross that line, it won’t take long, For you to find out, I recommend you don’t, Try that in a small town.”

After CMT pulled the “Try That In A Small Town” music video from its network rotation, Aldean issued a statement defending the song.

“In the past 24 hours I have been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song (a song that has been out since May) and was subject to the comparison that I (direct quote) was not too pleased with the nationwide BLM protests,” he said. “These references are not only meritless, but dangerous. There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it- and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage -and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music- this one goes too far.”

“‘Try That In A Small Town,’ for me, refers to the feeling of a community that I had growing up, where we took care of our neighbors, regardless of differences of background or belief,” he later added. “Because they were our neighbors, and that was above any differences. My political views have never been something I’ve hidden from, and I know that a lot of us in this Country don’t agree on how we get back to a sense of normalcy where we go at least a day without a headline that keeps us up at night. But the desire for it to- that’s what this song is about.”

Aldean’s Conservative Views

The hateful left has been trying to target Aldean for cancellation for years because he is one of the few celebrities who is not afraid to express conservative views.

In a 2021 interview, he opened up about what it’s like to be a Trump supporter in the entertainment world.

“At some point it’s gotten to where if you’re a conservative in this business, you’re not allowed to speak,” Aldean said at the time, according to Music Mayhem. “Trust me, I have a lot of friends in this business that think the way I think, and a lot of them are really scared to stand up and say anything for fear of backlash or whatever the case may be.”

“To me, it’s hard for to go lay my head down at night with a clear conscience, feeling like I’m a coward for not saying the things that I want to say, or I feel like need to be said,” he added.

Despite the liberal outrage over “Try That In A Small Town,” the song has become a massive success, hitting number 1 on iTunes as the top song in the U.S. last Tuesday, according to TMZ.

This all just goes to show that while the hateful left may have loud voices, there is a silent majority in this country that has had enough of the woke nonsense. We applaud Aldean for refusing to back down to the liberal mob, and we can only hope that he continues to stand strong against them in the future!
