The conservative Hollywood icon James Woods torched President Joe Biden over a $700 emergency payment to those displaced by the wildfires in Maui.

The payments were announced as the White House Tuesday revealed its “robust whole-of-government response effort” for the victims of the disaster.

As part of the program, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will allow for “a one-time payment of $700 per household to applicants who were displaced from their homes and have critical needs.”

Woods does not feel the payments are adequate, especially in light of everything the United States has done for foreign nations under President Biden.

“$700 per household for Americans whose homes were razed during a preventable disaster,” he wrote on Twitter/X. “People stood in the ocean watching their community disintegrate and their neighbors burn to death.”

“Seven. Hundred. Lousy. Dollars,” added Woods. “But $113 BILLION to Ukraine. Good job, Big Guy.”

$700 For Maui Victims

The official death toll from the Maui wildfire has climbed to 106 and is expected to rise even further with only a third of the affected region being searched thus far.

It marks the deadliest wildfire in the United States in over 100 years and represents Hawaii’s worst natural disaster.

President Biden was heavily criticized over a comment earlier this week, or rather, a “no comment,” as he was wrapping up after an hours-long picnic at the beach.

The President declared a federal emergency and issued a statement with condolences for the families of those who died last week, but then fell silent culminating with the “no comment” controversy.

On Tuesday, Biden was in full damage control mode as criticism was mounting due to his multi-day silence on the disaster.

“My wife, Jill, and I are going to travel to Hawaii as soon as we can,” Biden said at a wind and electric power manufacturing plant in Milwaukee. “That’s what I’ve been talking to the governor about but I don’t want to get in the way.”

There’s little doubt he will visit, with Hawaii being a blue state. However, it should be noted that Biden said he would visit East Palestine, Ohio “at some point” following a toxic train disaster that took place in February.

“Some point” has yet to come.

Billions For Ukraine

Conservatives like James Woods have centered their harshest criticism around the fact that Americans are getting shorted when it comes to their own disasters – East Palestine, border states and towns, and now Maui – while Ukraine receives a seemingly endless supply of taxpayer money.

Last week, President Biden put forth a request for a nearly $40 billion aid package that includes $24 billion for Ukraine and $12 billion to replenish federal disaster funds not specifically related to Maui.

The United States has already approved four rounds of aid to Ukraine since Russia invaded, totaling about $113 billion.

Former President Donald Trump criticized Biden for his response to the crisis in a videotaped statement.

“To say no comment is oftentimes fine, but to be smiling when you say it, especially again such a tragedy as this, is absolutely horrible and unacceptable,” he said. “It is a disgraceful thing that Joe Biden refuses to help or comment on the tragedy in Maui, just as he refused to help or comment on the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio for a very, very long time.”

Trump then offered his “love and sympathy” to those suffering in Maui.

Woods, meanwhile, has been a longtime critic of the current occupant of the White House.

He blasted Biden following comments leading up to the election in which the then-Democrat presidential candidate dismissed America as “an idea” that “we’ve never lived up to.”

“If you weren’t owned by China, you might love this country, too,” countered Woods.

More recently, Woods called out President Biden after he mistakenly said Russian President Vladimir Putin was “losing the war in Iraq.”

“This is sad and unsettling,” Woods wrote on X in a message that was later deleted. “Granted dementia is a cruel disease, but the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has the potential to be a worldwide nuclear holocaust.”

“America cannot risk strategic fumbling by her president in an arena of this magnitude,” he added.

America can’t risk another four years of this bumbling presidency, period.
